Are you going to watch the Pope JP2 Movie tonight?

I believe it will be on ABC. I am going to tape because I have my legionary meeting tonight after my classes, but I can’t wait. I loved the one the Hallmark Channel did “The Man Who Would Become Pope” so I am very excited to see this one. Anyone else going to watch it?

You betcha - I have a meeting with a sponsee but I plan on watching it after she leaves.
 
I will be working, but I will have my wife tape it. Hopefully the rabbit ears will make for good reception 😉
 
I read a review that said it was pretty bland tonight - but there is one on CBS Sunday night I believe, that they said was much better. For whatever that’s worth, I intend to watch/tape both…
 
Its on here in the Houston area at 7pm. I will have to double check the station thats carrying it.

Oh I didn’t know that there was going to be one on tonight. I will be sure to watch it.

Is this the Jon Voight one???
 
Tonight is my DH’s big “40”, so we will go to dinner as a family then maybe do a bit of shopping… and will miss the movie (our VCR died about a year ago, and we have not replaced it…)
 
No that one is coming on on Sunday on CBS, this one is tonight on ABC at 8/7C

Just finish watching and recording it. Very good. Still wiping the tears from my eyes. I do miss Him. God Bless John Paul II. I’m going to watch CBS’s on Sunday also.
 
I thought the ABC movie was TERRIBLE! Bland …exactly.The best part of the movie was the actua funeral footage at the end.I hope the CBS one is much better.
 
I just watched it and was very moved by it. I was amazed at how much the actor really captured our beloved John Paul II. I found it very refreshing in many ways and very sad in others. I’m glad I watched it.
I miss him so…

I did get all teary at the end though. 😦 Brings back how I felt watching that funeral a few months ago.

I wonder how CBS will do. I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Oh me too, I was crying all over again. How I miss Him. He was such a great man. I even saw a tear in my husband’s eyes, he being a “tough guy” (like our Dearly departed Holy Father) he did not admit it, but I know he too cried when John Paul II passed away last April.
 
I did not realize that Pope John Paul II felt he had a problem with pride. The part about the plea and then assassin of Bishop Oscar Romero was very moving.
