HI all.

After reading this story, I wanted to share it with you.

Sometimes we just take things for granted, when we really need to be sharing what we know šŸ‘

this is a wonderful example of doing the will of God, loving Him and neighbor.

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago . They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night’s dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding…

ALL BUT ONE !!!

He paused, took a deep breath, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.

He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.

He was glad he did.

The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight.

The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.
When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, ā€˜Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?’ She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, ā€˜I hope we didn’t spoil your day too badly.’

As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, ā€˜Mister…’ He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued,

ā€˜Are you Jesus?’

He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul:

ā€˜Are you Jesus?’

Do people mistake you for Jesus?
That’s our Destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.

I am sure someone has a story where they touched someone’s heart with Godly love when they did not expect it.

I invite anyone to share your story here

If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would.

Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church.

It’s actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.

You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.

God bless you and your family

Nawwwwwwww that’s such a beautiful story!!! šŸ‘ for the salesman that stayed behind. Reminds me of the leapers that Jesus healed where only one came back.

*Dear mpjw2,
What a wonderful story! What a awesome message! I wish I could say I am like the salesman that stayed behind. It surely makes me want to be a better person … the type of person God wants me to be! Why is that so hard for me?
God Bless you for this beautiful story!

Wonderful story. Brought tears to my eyes. With your permission, I would like to use this in my sermon this week as a ending thought.

Here’s another story that I think is quite beautiful:

The Tea Cup

The story is told of a couple who went to England to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and shopped at a beautiful antique store. They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially teacups, and so spotting an exceptional cup, they asked, ā€œMay we see that? We’ve never seen a cup quite so beautiful.ā€

As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke…

"You don’t understand, I have not always been a teacup. There was a time when I was just a lump of red clay. My master took me and rolled me pounded and patted me over and over and I yelled out, ā€˜Don’t do that. I don’t like it! Leave me alone!’ "

But the master only smiled and gently said, ā€œNot yet!ā€

ā€œThen, WHAM! I was placed on a spinning wheel and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. Stop it! I’m getting so dizzy! I’m going to be sick,ā€ I screamed.

But the master only nodded and said quietly,ā€œNot yet.ā€

ā€œHe spun me and poked and prodded and bent me out of shape to suit himself and then…he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I yelled and knocked and pounded at the door. Help! Get me out of here!ā€

Again he said, ā€œNot yet.ā€

ā€œWhen I thought I couldn’t bear it another minute, the door opened. He carefully took me out and put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. Oh, that felt so good! Ah, this is much better,ā€ I thought. ā€œBut after I cooled he picked me up and he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. Oh, please, Stop it! Stop it!ā€ I cried.

He only shook his head and said,ā€œNot yet.ā€

"Then suddenly he put me back into the oven. Only it was not like the first time. This time it was twice as hot and I just knew I would suffocate. I begged… I pleaded… I screamed…I cried… I was convinced I would ever make it.

I was ready to give up and just then the door opened and he took me out and again placed me on the shelf, where I cooled and waited and waited, wondering: What’s he going to do to me next? An hour later he handed me a mirror and said…"

ā€œLook at yourself.ā€

ā€œAnd I didā€¦ā€.

ā€œI said, That’s not me, that couldn’t be me. It’s beautiful. I’m beautiful!ā€

ā€œQuietly he spoke, ā€˜I want you to remember,’ then he saidā€¦ā€

"I know it hurt to be rolled and pounded and patted, but had I just left you alone, you’d have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped you would have crumbled.

I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn’t put you there you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn’t done that you never would have hardened. You would not have had any color in your life.

And if I hadn’t put you back in that second oven, you wouldn’t have survived for long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. Now you are what I had in mind when I first began with you."

The moral of this story is this: The Lord knows what He’s doing for each of us; He is the potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, and expose us to just enough pressures of just the right kinds that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good, pleasing and perfect will.

So when life seems hard, and you are being pounded and patted and pushed almost beyond endurance; when your world seems to be spinning out of control; when you feel like you are in a fiery furnace of trials; when life seems too hard to bear, try this…

Brew a cup of your favorite tea in your prettiest tea cup, sit down and have a little talk with the Potter.

God bless you Angel…

by you saying…
It surely makes me want to be a better person … the type of person God wants me to be!
made me realize i am not the only one who thinks the same about myself as you do yourself.
Why is that so hard for me
Those of us who have the desire to be followerers of Christ, know the road is not an easy one.

Take heart Angel…it is through the tough times where we grow to be strong and rely more and more on God and not ourselves to carry us through If it was easy it would not be worth it.

God bless you

That is a wonderful story. I enjoyed reading it, and it made me happy.

*Dear mpjw2,
Thank you so much for your special and wonderfully encouraging words. I know how important it is to rely more on God! Those difficult times do make us stronger; where we rely on Our Almighty for His support and kindness!
God works in mysterious ways … and the best part is HE is always with us; through thick and thin!
