Are you morally obligated to continue a devotion to which you're not consecrated?

If you think a devotion may interfere with your regular prayer schedule and can’t be maintained, is there any reason not to axe it?

No.

You can axe any devotion you want, any time, for as long as you haven’t been bound to it by proper ecclesiastical authority.

Ditto voluntary penances that have not been imposed on you by someone with jurisdiction over you.
