I did not know that the first thing that would come to your mind would be that word and that you would think I was considering such initials. Last time I checked there are several things wtf could mean.
Oh come on, if you just put initials it’s obviouse you are hiding what you really said because you know you can’t put that word here.

The one I was thinking of was what the fudge.
If this is even true, then that’s what you should’ve written. 🙂

I would never consider writing that other word on these forums. I read over the rules before posting my original post and it did not mention anything about posting initials that can be ambiguous and interpreted several ways I might have borderline pushed the limit to create a little humor and emphasize what I was saying…
I don’t find offensive language funny and it never emphasizes what one is saying, it only takes away from it.

Enough of this, it’s over and done with and you’re forgiven. We all make mistakes and I’m sure most of us have spoken foul language at least once in our lives. Peace.

My whole family has a blast watching this show! For me and my husband, it proves to us how much we FORGOT! 🙂

We think it illustrates quite well that much of what we “learn” in school we don’t really learn at all. It is a good argument for homeschooling. Help them truly learn what they actually need to know and don’t force them to binge/purge unnecessary trivia.

That said, I love watching the 5th graders on the show. I would have had a blast trying to make grown ups feel dumb when I was a kid. Hey, wouldn’t we all? Those kids are enjoying themselves. I do wish that Foxworthy would empathize more with the contestants. He puts them down more than he needs to. I think it would be just as funny if he said more things like, “Hey, don’t feel bad. I don’t know that one either.”

🙂 I don’t think it a good argument for home schooling…

But I do like the show…and you are right…Mr. Foxworthy could empathize more.

I find this show absolutely ridiculous. It’s like they are giving a million a way. I want to know how to pretend I am a moron so I can get on that show lol. Seriously though, I found it to be very degrading to the individual especially when they make the person admit they are not as smart as a fifth grader in order to get the money. The whole point I suppose is to show how stupid the majority of the people in our country really are. What did everyone else think of it?
Reminds me of that show that used to air on a cable channel called “Street Smarts”.
The people on that show were utterly “challenged” in basic, everyday knowledge.

I don’t think it illustrates either of your points.

I’ve been long since removed from 5th grade and no longer remember what mitochondria do in a human cell. I deem it useless info because knowing such serves no purpose in my world. Yet my 5th grader learning that (at an excellent public school no less  ) may just be his springboard into a future in biology or gene technology some related field. Who’s to say or know the future path of our children?

But the point about home schooling is irrelevant here - there are excellent schools all over.

That said, we loved the game because it gave my smarty pants 5th grader a chance to challenge me and see how much I remember.

I’ll be a contestant…if I win some $, it’s lunch on me! 😃

Will you really be a contestant on that show?!!
Do tell!! When? With whom… family, kids…etc? 😃
No - I have no time to travel to do a game show. But I see it as a fun kind of thing and my son would just die laughing if I was on it.
