There’s not much he can do.

Argentina has no valid claim.

The Falkland Islanders have declared their intent to stay under British protection, so…🤷

He should reply: “First, I am hoping to mediate a return to democracy in Argentina.”

Hopefully by telling her to shut up. Seriously, they belong to the UK. The people who want to live there want to be British citizens.

Get over it already.

Does Argentina really want to have control over an island of which 99.8% of its inhabitants wish to remain in the U.K.? Do they want all those people to self-deport?

Zing!

I guess she doesn’t have any other course of action. After a 99% refereundum, it would take an act of God to send the Falklands go back to Argentina.

Argentina won a world cup because of the “Hand of God!”

The Pope has no place in mediating political issues.
JPII in Poland?

I will admit that it was “unofficial”, but I am firmly convinced that JPII the Great, RWR, and Thatcher brought down the Iron Curtain (yes, yes: obviously our soldiers, NATO, the inherent problems of communism, etc: you know what I mean;))
