Go see it. Aside from some bad language it’s a great film while not 100% historically correct to every detail especially the way it ends it’s a great story done well. Good job on this Hollywood. I only say that rarely.

I’m a friend with the real-life Tony Mendez (through my professor and mentor). He’s a really great guy. I saw him at the movie premiere in Washington D.C., and he appeared to greatly enjoy the movie.

I too really liked Argo - it had some laugh out loud moments and some edge-of-your-seat moments. A perfect mix.

Some years later I worked with one of the six who was brought out. He never said a word about it; I found out from someone else.

I plan to see the movie.

Did everyone in 1980 smoke cigarettes? And guzzle hard liquor continually? I was alive at that time, but I don’t remember it being that bad.

Still a good film though.

I enjoyed it. As a long-time comic book fan, I liked that it had a quick appearance by Jack Kirby (whom they contracted to draw the storyboards), and that Kirby was played by Michael “Then Came Bronson” Parks.

A few incorrect details. For example when they say the British and New Zealand turned the 6 who escaped away-that’s a lie. The British sheltered them for a week, but they all agreed they’d be safer at the Canadian embassy because of their accents. The New Zealanders also helped transport them to the Canadian embassy. Ben Affleck said he knew this but wanted to keep the pace going, but still that annoyed me.

Apart from that an excellent film and a worthy best picture winner.
