Arguments against the Bible?

I have read some article, which is called -’‘The war of Science with Religion’’,and there was written that the explorers of archeology have found the documents which prove that the Biblical Events are borrowed from the Babylonian and Assyrian nations.
According to the archeology discoveries the stories of Adam and Eve , Forbidden Fruit, the stories about Josef and Moses , and many other Biblical Stories are not original.
The Researches have also established the fact that accounts formerly supposed to be special revelations to Jews and Christians are but repetitions of widespread legends dating from far earlier civilizations, and that beliefs formerly thought fundamental to Judaism and Christianity are simply based on ancient myths,… many of the beliefs of Christendom have been developed, especially how they have been influenced from the seats of older religions…
How to understand these statements ?
What is the answer of the Biblical Apologists to these discoveries ?

Im not an apologist but I can tell you my point of view about it.

Many people are influenciated and dedicated to debunk christianity. some channels broadcasted a documentary about the gospel of Judas that its well know as an agnostic gospel, so it couldnt have been written by Judas but by agnostics.
anyway many channels broadcasted the documentary about the Judas gospel. there is a huge feeling of trying to debunk christinity.

I heard a friend of mine claiming that the name israel means the names of some sumerian pagan Gods,
but in hebrew israel means strengh of God.

Israel was monotheistic since alot of time. so it may sound ridicoulous if Israel means the name of some pagan Gods , while they were saying: “Israel, praise Yahvew your only God!..”.

botton line In one hand you have some summerian and assyrians that just mention that some fact are similar from the bible.
but on the other hand the bible claim that this people Abraham, Moses etc. Were the ones that started their country and their religion. So the bible has way more value than those summerian and assyrian writtings.

Something else is the fact that some books in the bible must be read taking in account the mythological language , the jewish culture of the time and the divine inspiration of the books .
and we shoulnt read everything as a scientific or historical fact but as a divine book, inspirated by God.

I remember I was reading this article on the Internet.
Its probably called ‘‘The War of Science with Religion.’’

The Gospel of Jude is the Document which was known to the some of Church Fathers.
The Jude wasn’t considered the author of the Gospel.
It was the gnostic gospel.
There are about hundred gnostic gospels.
I am not sure exactly.
What is the difference of Catholic(4) Gospels from the other ones that -They are ALIVE.
Our Gospel is ALIVE.
This is the only prove of the truth.

Of course, we can’t believe everything we read somewhere.

In’’ Washington’s Show’’ the representation of the Gospel of Jude looked like the Discovery of the twenty first century’’
like the ‘‘Revelation of the twenty first century’’.:crying:

Den Brown by the most authoritative MEDIA was called ‘‘Pure Genius’’, his ‘‘Davinchi Code’’ was called the Shedevre in the worlds literature.’’:crying:
Though they say that by the quantities of mistakes his book is valid to ‘‘the Giness Records Book’’

I am Evangelical Christian , but in my heart I think, partly we( Protestants and Evangelicals) are guilty of those abuses and accusations against the Catholic History and the Catholic Church and Gospel today.
Well, I am not Catholic yet, I have the problems with Mariology , the subject, I discuss in the other thread.
And my opinions are very poor, because I am neither History expert nor Theology expert.
They say, we can not translate the History.
The History translates itself.
But you see , in the conservative Catholic Language, the ‘‘Crusades’’ and ‘‘Dark , Middle Ages’’ did not exist.
These terms are the inventions of the Protestant Historiographers.
There are the different Interpretations of the Christian History.
Even till today, some Evangelical Groups in radical opposition to the Catholic History.
But in that article , there are the arguments against the Authority of the Bible.
That the Bible is not just mythical but something like ‘‘Plagiat’’
Like the sources, borrowed from the other nations.
And the Bible is the Book -all Christians believe.
I am interested, there might be the scholars , who for sure know about those archeology discoveries , and have the professional opinion about it.
For me it is also interesting, the opinions of the Apologists.
It seems , that those discoveries, do not hurt the Catholic Teaching, but more hurtful to the Evangelical ‘‘Sola Scriptura’’ teaching.
Don’t You think so ?

The Gospel of Judas is a gnostic text not an agnostic text. The gnositcs were a heretical group that believed the body was bad and only the spirit was good. Somehow that heresy has re-emerged in modern times…which is funny because I thought we killed them all a long time ago.

To declare a book inspire , the catholic church was looking for 3 basic stuffs

1. The written must have been written in the apostolic time ,
   this means when the apostoles were alive till the year 100 AC more or less when st John died.

2.The text must have had a fervent devotion an veneration in the primitive churches.

1. the text msut be in accordance with the holy spirit.

beside this the church researched so much about all this texted who wrote them in which year etc.

The gospel of Jude was wroten so much after the year 100 by an gnostic sect. its openly an agnostic text cause it was wroten by gnostic lol.

Make a reaseach about what the gnsotics were. n how diferent was their doctrine from christianity. there were so many heresys on those time.

Catholics believe that Holy Scripture is the inspired Word of God. We also believe that natural law is written on the hearts of men from the moment of their conception.
I mention this because it would not seem to me that pointing out how many different societies and civilizations have creation stories, flood stories, etc would somehow weaken the spiritual beliefs based on Holy Scripture. If anything I would think it would prove the Catholic position that sola scriptura is not sound and that natural law is Truth.
