One of, and probably the most critical, parts of my personality is Impatience.>>>IronMike63
Only a problem when answers are not readily.
Couple that with wanting to be my own man and you have ME [all of me]>>> IronMike63
You are your own man in that you are as a god of your own life. By that I mean that God’s gift to you is the ability to reason, to make judgments between two opposites, Good and evil.
I was born into my my faith, schooled into it, churched into it, and believe it without a doubt>>> IronMike63
That is a good thing and something that many don’t have.
… Now, if you ask me “in practice” how I’ve faired, I will have to confess that I have done combat with God one-on-one since adolescence and most often only found myself on my knees pleading for help at those times I called “usual”. I had six children.>>> IronMike63
Mike, life was meant to be a trial; otherwise we wouldn’t learn a thing. How we cope with life’s trials depends on our upbringings, and beliefs and our maturity level.
When the only son died, I started ‘caving’ making plans to be something other then what I am. However, His Plan succeeded. I could find no rest other then in His arms. I thru in the towel about 4 years ago and am now teaching CCD.
And that was because He loves you!
The surviving 5 are experiencing this world just like we all do but, because they are the latch-key kids of divorce as well as adults in their own rite, they have and continue to make choices which, up and until this past week’s epiphany, dwelled heavy on my heart.>>> IronMike63
If I can set your heart at rest about the spiritual state and condition of your kids would you look at them differently? What I mean is that Christ died for all mankind bar none! That includes all your kids regardless of what they believe.
Now, if you can believe that, you can rest knowing that their souls are secure in Jesus whether they know it or not.
The problem is, as you stated above quote “The surviving 5 are experiencing this world just like we all do”.
Meaning that: making good decisions, good judgments are our sole responsibility and subject to consequences and or blessing while in the flesh.
The key is to demonstrate to them your faith and your walk with God in such a manner that they may be led to come to God because of His loving kindness, and not what we all may think, as His anger.
For want of other word - they’re pagans. I even have one who is well educated who currently believes there is no life after death, that all matter is relative, and nothing really goes away but has always been around [cosmic dust]. >>> IronMike63
Pagans or not, they are still your kids and just like our father God, we are still His regardless.
In God’s house, domain, spiritual realm lays a vast amount of forgiveness, and unmerited love towards us, His creation.
If we were not aware of that, we would find it really hard to come to Him with our problems.
