I am not afraid that Armageddon is coming tomorrow as it has been 2009 years sense Jesus died. But I have given it some thought. If It happened tomorrow would I be left behind. I have been good, I have asked for forgiveness and I have loved my neighbor. But unlike my Jehovah’s wittiness friend I am not totally sure if I would be taken.

So I was given this food for thought or inspiration. If you are as good as you think and you could choose from the following options what would you do?.

The Lord asks you would you like to be taken up now or could you do me a favor? I need someone to stay behind and lead my people home. They are sinners but there is still hope and I do love them. If you go you will be taken to Heaven right now and be with your family and loved ones. If you stay you will suffer and you will see others suffer. But remember who it is that is asking you to do this.

If these where your options would you be brave enough to teach sinners to love and be loved? Would you be brave enough to stay and lead them home? Or would you go to Heaven. Please take just a few moments to ponder this question.

No one is good. Only God is good.

The Lord once asked a saint whether he wanted a golden crown or a crown of thorns. The saint replied he wanted the latter. This should be our attitude as well.

The Lord permits the evil of suffering so He can use it to save souls. We can offer our sufferings, in union with Jesus’ sufferings on the Cross, for poor sinners.

God’s will be done. Whatever path God wants me to follow, I will accept it. I don’t think I’m ready to leave this earth yet. But I’m sure Heaven will be every bit as great as we think it will be. I miss my parents, but I would miss my wife and kids too. I really do hope I live long enough to see my grand children. But I don’t care to outlive any of my kids.

Well, isn’t that the message that every religious person has been getting for thousands of years (as a Jew, I’ll add a few years to your 2009 and go back at least to Moses).

In fact I always thought that Christians were even MORE motivated to save sinners souls right here on earth? Do you see doing a simple mitzvah as requiring bravery? Showing people the right way via your actions?

Who knows how a simple smile and a door held open for a stranger might change someone’s life? Perhaps they are on the edge, ready to do something drastic, turn from one path to another, and that simple mitzvah is the feather that keeps the scale from tipping.

Be real careful with the influence that your JW friend has on you. Their religion is very apocalyptic and Armegeddon is their main focus. That being said, Catholic theology exhorts us to be ready for either our particular or our final judgment at any moment. We do not teach that the rapture includes those being “left behind”. We are on this earth now for our mission of love which is our cooperation with Christ’s infinite love on the Cross. When Jesus comes again it will be the end of time and all will be judged. He only comes back once and from that point all of us will inherit our eternal destiny.

Our call now is to evangelize and lead our neighbor’s away from sin. Once this life is over our hope is to be with God for eternity. So, unlike your JW friend, do not worry about Armegeddon. Conform your life to Christ and His will is that you spend eternity with Him. This judgment happens when we die or when Christ comes again neither of which require that we remain somewhere to lead others to Christ. At that time our mission is complete…God Bless…teachccd

Even if this really isn’t a Catholic ending.

I think I will stay just for the ‘adventure’ of it, I need to see the worse of the worse to see how great heaven is. It’s like living a perfect society forever, without knowing the darkness, so how can you define the paradise? I will have eternity to enjoy heaven so even if millions of years helping others is not as a big of deal. Plus God ask, and I would do it for him but also for the others so it is not all in vain. Pain is only a feeling that God created, and is the same as Happy. Can’t have the bad without the good, then it’s only nothing.

Can you truly smile without crying? Can you truly die without living? Can you truly live without dying?

If I were you, I would make sure I know the Catholic teaching, because JW’s are specially “trained” to target Catholics.

And if you decide that maybe you could stand to brush up on the Catholic teaching, and I’m not saying you actually could because I don’t know you, here’s a good place to start:
