aromathery and the use of essential oils??????

Hi! I’m really confused!!! I saw a faith healer earlier this week and he told my mother- in-law that using essential oils opened you up to bad things ie. the devil!!! I’m a trained aroma therapist currently looking for a job. But now I’m unsure if I want to proceed, due to what this man has said!!! Does anyone know if it’s true?
