Arrested for wearing Rosary

In my city there is at least one gang - the Surenos - that displays their colors via rosaries. The school district prohibits the wearing of rosaries for this reason.

And I understand that. Still…isnt it sad that gangs would desecrate rosaries and make them symbols of something evil?
