My brother (who is a PhD) says that the letters stand for “piled higher and deeper.”The fact of the matter is that PhDs by and large are a very liberal profession. !
History is interesting what people chose to worship. I don’t know of any way of telling what the cave men worshipped. If I saw a picture of a bull on the wall with a person in front of it, my guess would be that it was one of two things: either his every day life and what he dealt with on a regular basis, or so out of the ordinary that it was worth drawing about. The more common it became, the more common I would think the scene would be.But on the other hand, I think my instructor did mention that people did “worship” animals a long time ago. But why the heck would you worship a created thing and not the Creator?![]()
Well, I guess the point I’m trying to make is, would God have revealed Himself to these people back then? If so, they wouldn’t have been worshipping the “animals”. See my point?
And if He did, they probably rejected Him and decided to worship the “animals”, how lovely! NOT!If that’s the case, I can’t believe why people would reject God and worship “animals”! Or other people which were considered “gods” and “goddesses”, how crazy.
The most logical explanation and the one widely held. These depictions were not items of worship *per se.* Simply totems, similar to the enemy flags painted on planes. Do you suggest those pilots worship the pilot they shot down? The artist may have been reminding his clan what a great hunter he was, or they may have been a reminder to himself. Winters coming and game will be scarce, if I don't kill one of these we'll starve. As to what they, may or may not, have worshiped. My most educated guess would be fire.

The websites I found for the Lascaux cave drawings say that they date from 13 to 15 thousand years BC. That’s a far cry from 3 million.Really? Then if you’re right then my history book must be wrongbecause there’s a picture of a Paleolitic pebble with a human-like face on it as if someone made it themselves. The says it’s from 3,000,000 B.C. But I don’t know anything so I should keep my yap shut!
But then again, it seems like you can’t trust ANYTHING![]()

Well, you’re quire right about that, and the Internet, particularly has to be used with caution.Sir:
If I put my mind to it as you evidently have, I could find websites that claim Elvis is alive and well. Sites that claim the moon landing was a hoax snd was actually filmed on a secret sound stage on Earth. As Isaac Asimovv said. "Give me any set of facts, by choosing what I wish I can prove the Earths flat. Dan
On this note, can anyone instruct me on how to join the book club?Paris:
I really really think you’ll like what was earlier suggested to you
The Everlasting Man by GK Chesterton.
