No, Ham’s correct, orthodox it should be, orthodox it has to be. In *Ad Beatissimi Apostolorum, *Pope Benedict XV stated this:

“It is, moreover, Our will that Catholics should abstain from certain appellations which have recently been brought into use to distinguish one group of Catholics from another. They are to be avoided not only as “profane novelties of words,” out of harmony with both truth and justice, but also because they give rise to great trouble and confusion among Catholics. Such is the nature of Catholicism that it does not admit of more or less, but must be held as a whole or as a whole rejected: “This is the Catholic faith, which unless a man believe faithfully and firmly; he cannot be saved” (Athanas. Creed). There is no need of adding any qualifying terms to the profession of Catholicism: it is quite enough for each one to proclaim “Christian is my name and Catholic my surname,” only let him endeavour to be in reality what he calls himself.”

""Neo-conservative is simply a term used by some who self-identify as “traditionalists” to bash Catholics who are orthodox and obedient (and, for that matter, traditional…just not “tradtional”).
Of course this means you shall refrain in the future from referring to traditionalists as traditionalists. You may just call us orthodox. Just don’t call us Orthodox.

Though you may call us Orthopraxists. On second thought, you’d better not. Papa has spoken, infallibly as he always does.

Just call us Catholic, thank you very much. If you don’t, I’m certain His Holiness will excommunicate you for using adjectives.

All I did was quote a pre-conciliar pope.

And I don’t call you traditionalists. You call yourselves that. I’m absolutely sure some of you ARE orthodox.

Please get back on topic, people, and don’t post personal comments. Thank you for your cooperation.

“A new look at the Old Mass”

From Homiletic and Pastoral review:

Brilliant…absolutely brilliant.
I just read most of the article. He referred to “a neighboring diocese” where a group of folks had approached the bishop to request a Latin Mass. That is my diocese! This article gives me great hope because I have been praying for a Latin mass in our diocese and I wondered if any of our diocesan priests would be willing to offer the Latin Mass if the Pope released the Motu Proprio. Fr. Myers’ article says that three - THREE! - priests approached our bishop with the request! That means there are three priests ready and waiting when and if it happens! My heart is so full of hope and joy right now!

I have, several times, attended the Latin Mass at St. Boniface where Fr. Myers is a priest. It is a beautiful awesome mass! My husband, who is a convert and had never attended a Latin Mass before recently, just loves the Traditional Mass. We are going to the mass tomorrow, on Easter Sunday!

Thank you for posting the article!!

A Happy and Blessed Easter!

I agree, it is an excellent article. Father Meyers does a good job explaining the importance to the Mass of having silence, and also of retaining the use of Latin.

I didn’t know before I read this that VII called for “actual” participation which was confused for active participation and Father Myers explains how the resulting chaos has undermined the people’s understanding of the Mass as a sacrifice.

He also testifies to the fact that the number of vocations that are springing up from the Traditional communities, as compared to the Novus Ordo parishes are much higher. This, I believe, is how God will renew His Church.

I have a “I ❤️ the Latin Mass Pittsburgh Latin Mass Community” bumper sticker–even though I’ve never been to Pittsburgh. 🤷
