As a Christian, do you consider the Blessed Virgin Mary as your Mother?

I see many theological errors in your response.

Let me point out the first Chapter in the Gospel of John.

*In the beginning was the Word; and the Word was with God; and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was made nothing that was made.

In him was life; and the life of the was the light of men. And in the light shineth in darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man sent from God whose name is John. This man came for a witness, to give testimony of the light, that all men might believe through him.

He was not the light, but to give testimony of light.

that was the true light, which enlighten every man cometh into this world.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him and the world knew him not.

He came into his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, he give them powe to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in name.

Who are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.*

So in this passage we see that the Word was in the beginning, and the Word was with God, and the Word is God. In verse 14, the Word became flesh. Flesh as becoming Man. This Word is Jesus Christ for Jesus said, "I am the Light of the Word, just as that he the light of men.

It is true that Mary isn’t the Mother of God, the Father. She was not created until the appointed time. She is however, the Mother of God, the Son, Jesus Christ, through ouor baptism is now our brother. So indirectly, all Christians regardless of their faith tradition, Mary is the Mother of All Christians.

Many Non-Catholic Christians fail to realized this. I don’t see why this could be problem. I don’t see it as a problem at all. In the NT, Jesus told us to call God, Our Father. Christianity is family oriented religion unlike other faiths.

Mary has always done Gods will. So I guess what you are saying is that Mary is Jesus mother.

Nector would agree with you. Why would you agree with a heretic’s false theology.

You cannot divide the divinity of Jesus with his humanity. Jesus is both True God, and True Man.

Through Mary, Jesus had a body like we do.

No one has ever denied that Jesus is Mary’s savior. Jesus was presented to the temple with an offering did He need one? no. Also Jesus never had the stain of original sin, did he need to be baptised?

Mary said, “Be it done unto me according to your word.” She accepts God’s will.

“Do whatever he tell you.” Mary said to the wine servants when Jesus performed his first miracle by turning water to wine.

Many Protestant use Mark 3:31-35 to give discredit to Mary but that is not so as we can see in the entire NT text.

You do not speak Aramaic. The reason this is translated this way is because in Aramaic there is no word for cousin. You don’t understand the culture enough to see the relationship between family, friends, etc. In middle eastern culture, any of my friends are my brothers,and it isn’t too uncommon to refer as an older woman as my mother.

She was preserved from sin by God. So God saved her during the moment of her conception. The claim that Mary born without sin doesn’t need a savior is incorrect. It is through God that Mary was preserve all the stain of sins. Mary’s own will power could not save herself. She would need God, and a savior.

Very true.

There is no word for cousin in Hebrew as well as Aramaic. The Gospel written used brother or sister in the place of cousin. If you read the OT, Lot is called brother by Abraham, though Lot is Abraham’s nephew.

When the text was translated into Greek they kept the brother and sister.

“But why is this granted to me, that MOTHER OF MY LORD should come to me”? (NKJV)
So, who is the Lord?

I would rather honor Mary that does not go against any Scriptural teaching. I do as she ask and obey Christ. I believe this would please her more than honoring her, besides this always boils down to Bible vs Bible plus your Tradition which has no merit. Not much is said about Mary after Christ Death and resurrection. It seems more would have been said if it was such an important part of our faith.

🙂 I heard it explained this way… imagine a HUGE mud puddle (sin) we fall in it & are covered with sin…Jesus pulls us out (saved us by His death & ressurection). Mary was saved from ever falling into the mud puddle by our Lord. She was still saved, but without ever falling into sin…she was saved from sin…

My explanation and wording will never be as good as those who haved studied longer or the Church Father, however it all makes sense to me.

…here I go, moving another step closer to a better relationship & understanding with Mary.

Precisely - WHO did the will of God more perfectly than Mary, apart from Christ himself?

Is she ever shown as stumbling, having serious doubts, making serious errors and misjudgements as the apostles and other disciples all did (some even after the Resurrection and Pentecost I may add)?

Is she not therefore his mother and sister and brother most perfectly in this sense as well? She is truly twice-blessed.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of why Our Blessed Lady went to the temple. It was out of humility and obedience to the Law of Moses.

You can use the same faulty logic about why Jesus got baptized if He never incurred sin.

Furthermore, this notion of her not needing a savior is just another invention of Protestants:

A statement like this, being inspired by the Holy Spirit, is a clear indication of purity, sinlessness, holiness and profound humility. I ask you again, how have you called her blessed?

If you go through these posts, you may understand why the dogma of the Immaculate Conception is true.

The teaching is not against Scripture. In fact it is in the Scripture. Numerous Catholics here have pointed out the verse of Luke when Elizabeth addressed Mary as, ‘The Mother of My Lord.’

If you study ancient Judaism, Jews do not write or say God. They do write G-d. In many ancient text, the Hebrew people use ‘Lord’ to instead of addressing God as God.
