Like most of you I am appalled at the creeping secularism infecting some parishes. My problem/question is this, I am moving from a liberal diocese to another liberal diocese, an extremely liberal one. My research, including attending mass at every church not over an hour away has yeilded disparaging results. One mass I attended had a lutheren “concelebrant” and another had a clown next to the alter during the mass. Apparently this is par for the course in this diocese, according to those I have talked to the only truly Catholic parishes are Byzantine rite parishes. So, 1. Is it right for me a confirmed Roman Catholic to attend mass at a byzantine rite church,2 Do I need to be re RCIA’ed for the Byzantine rite if I decided this is where I must stay and 3 Should I just knuckle under and deal with liturgical abuses that make Lucifer blush and wait to move again? The main thing that bothers me is that I became Catholic to get away from the heresy of Protestantism, but every Church I have attended, even the one I was confirmed in, has had a hostile attitude to traditional catholicism. It is beging to seem like my only choices are schism with the SSPXers, heresy in my own parish, or Byzantine Catholicism. Any advice?
