Hello,
Every Sunday my family sits in the same spot and the same family sits behind us. One of the ladys is in a wheelchair and our Priest brings the Eucharist to her during communion. He walks right past me with the Eucharist in hand. What am I supposed to do as the Lord passes by? Bow my head, make the sign of the cross? We are already kneeling waiting for our pew to approach and I usually bow my head as He passes. Is this right? Thanks, Tim

It sounds good to me.👍 Most people probably wouldn’t even notice so you are already ahead. Crossing yourself wouldn’t hurt either, although I’m sure there are those who would see you as being excessively expressive in your respect and adoration at doing so.

Thanks. I’m very much affected by this every Sunday. I look for the Priest to nod to the lady behind me and my heart starts to race as the Priest brings our Lord down the aisle and stops besides me to give her communion. I look forward to it, but I don’t want to draw attention. I wish this lady knew how her handicap was a blessing to me. Tim

Personally, I think that is a wonderful sign of respect to our Lord, without being overly “showy” about it. (It’s really wonderful being close to Him, isn’t it?)🙂
