As parents of an SSA son, how do we respond to invite to meet his new boyfriend?

I prefer this post to be anonymous. Our son has been living with this SSA identity since high school. This appears to be his first active SSA relationship. We are struggling but want to do what we can to keep up our relationship with him with hopes to continue to have an impact on his faith life. Always praying for change and healing. What is protocol for a Catholic parent when meeting his boyfriend and any future encounters? Would it be a mistake to share our Catholic beliefs with him when we meet?
