Hi!
I hope all is well! I listen to Catholic Answers on Sacred Heart Radio in Seattle, I know it has provided so much for many people and really appreciate all the hard work gone into making this program a complete success. It has strengthened my relationship with God and am so thankful for that.
I have a question that I have always had and really has hurt my relationship with God. Please know what I am about to ask is not coming out of anger, or to make a point or be blasphemous (<— this has always stopped me from asking, but I am so tired of not being able to be in total communion with God as I yearn to be!) Here it goes! Don’t be mad!
I believe above all things that God makes no mistakes, since this is true why did Jesus have to come down and wash away all of our sins so God could purely love and see us without it? If God knew this was needed, why was it not done in the beginning and God being so powerful why did someone else have to do it for him? My teacher once said it is as if God is wearing rose-colored glasses, but he is all loving and powerful God, why does he need glasses to assist in seeing us or change his perception of us?
This brings to my other many-year-question: If we are all children of God, how is a boy not ‘the Son of God’? Was Jesus God on earth in one constant human body, or a child of God that was in total communion with God but still his son as we all are? Jesus letting himself be the walls of a river and God the water, if so where does the Son start are God stop? Where does the Holy Spirit come in all this?
Please know that I feel all three of them, and in my own mind have a vague idea of who they are based on these feelings. My interpretation; God- The Creator Jesus- The Teacher of how to treat others Holy Spirit- The Wind that moves everything as commanded by itself and others. But I am confused, and feel terrible as I feel like a fraud in Church because I don’t know for sure. I always feel such a warm feeling after receiving the Eucharist, and know this is Jesus, but this is the only time I feel him. But once I think too much about who Jesus is, I am not sure, therefore not sure as to what to think or go about my prayers!
Please help me, I have had such a burden on my heart I want to cry. Especially with Easter coming up and all the activities focused on the major part I don’t get but yearn too. I feel Jesus taught so much in how to live my daily life, and am so thankful to have a guide show me how to live life and confirm my loving feelings for all beings. I do though feel wrong in praising him, as I feel the only one to praise is God because he created everything and don’t feel right in praising someone that was made from God higher or more often than God. Oh my soul really feels in torment, I feel so bad for those in Hell as what is in my heart feels a bit like this place is described!
I am so sorry if this upset anyone, and I beg you if this query made you to angry to pass it on and help me find someone that can. I feel so horrible and want to be in so much more of a communion with God, I feel this is really holding me back!
