On 13 May Orthodox church celebrates Voznesenje of the lord (Analepsis tou Kyriou, or in Latin Ascensio Domini). This Ascensio of Jesus Christ into heaven - one of most important events of Holy History. After Ascencio the visible earthly presence of Christ gives way to his place as unseen in the Church.

Feast Celebrated in Moscow also in Russian Orthodox church:

 
Even a mere picture of Orthodox worship always conveys majesty and wonder - things the West often lack. It is truly a blessing to know that there are those who worship Almighty God in such a way. And thanks for the explanation, too. This serves as a good reminder of just how important this Day is!
