I was just informed that on Ash Wednesday there will be two Masses offered; one at 8:00am and one at 7:00pm. I usually always attend Daily Mass at 8:00am but would also like to attend at 7:00pm. I know that communion can be received twice in one day, but can receiving Ashes also be received twice a day. I would like to attend both Masses. Thanks for your help and
…God Bless

Sure. No problem at all. There is no restriction that ashes may only be received once, nor is there anything improper about it.

What would be the point in receiving either ashes or Communion twice on Ash Wednesday?

As a member of the pastoral staff I am called upon to help distribute ashes and, as it happens, those distributing are given ashes first before they distribute the ashes to others. So in that case I would receive the ashes more than once depending on the number of services I assist at.

That’s great to know!.. I joined the forum just to say thank you. My children received their ashes this morning at school but I wanted to take them to church tonight… thanks again, this is a great forum!

What is the point of receiving communion when it is allowed? Is that what you are asking?
