This thing about getting something for free just for showing up is so sorry. I dont mean to offend anyone, but that is not true at all. Free pizza-yes, Free Beer-yes, Free prepaid phone-yes, Free Cable-yes, Free “enter to win this big screen tv”-yes, Free Hot Dogs-yes, Free Doughnuts and Coffee-yippie…Free ash? HaHa

All those PEACE-(Palm Sunday, Easter,
Ash Wednesday, Christmas, I cant think of anything else that start with ‘E’)-Catholics do make one distinction, they are still Catholic and they do bring the family along. Even though they groan and gab the entire time they still come and their parents force them to get off their butt and come be infront of their God.

Another thing that I dont see here is that all those people who go out after Ash Wed mass are wearing crosses on their head, WHAT A WAY TO FLAUNT THE FAITH!!! And when those Prots get mad they cant claim that the CROSS is the mark of the Big Bad Beast that they so fear.

One of the biggest reasons why there are so many people at the Ash Wed mass is because it is only offered one time, unlike Sunday mass where there are multiple times during the day (e.g. 7am, 9am, 11am, 6:30pm) So all those people who go at different times of the day only have one option on Ash Wednesday, Christmas, Easter, etc.

Catholic Dude:

Around here they don’t do that. They had 5 or 6 masses (at one parish) for Ash Wednesday. This is more than they run for Sunday obligation.

I assume this is to fit all the people in.
