So my school has 1600 kids.

I’m the new Chaplain.

Historically they have “celebrated” Ash Wednesday in their home rooms.

Truth is, they can’t all fit in the gym.

But each class alone in their classrooms seems a little “reductionist” to me.

Any thoughts?

I am not sure what grades the school has, but you can divide it equally into two seperate times so that 3 grade levels go in the gym followed by another three grade levels within the next hour. Is the gym large enough for roughly 800 students?

How do they celebrate Ash Wednesday? Mass? Blessing? Ashes? Anything else?

I think this is a good idea-maybe have the underclassmen go in the gym and then the upperclassmen later.
