In the two months after the Pakistani court made its ruling public on Oct. 31 acquiting the Catholic woman of blasphemy for blaspheming Mohammed, Bibi’s daughters and their family friends moved three times to various secret locations in Pakistan, while followers of Khadim Hussain Rizvi searched house-to-house, looking to kill them.

She will be welcomed to a small town in Canada, where she will be reunited with her two teenage daughters, along with the family who aided and protected her daughters in Lahore while the mother sat in jail through years of legal appeals.

Note, the article in post #1 is January 31st.

This article is from 2 days ago:

A Canadian government source also told Fox News that reports Friday of Bibi having already arrived in Canada were false. Yet her exact whereabouts, believed to be in Pakistan, remains murky and shrouded in mixed messages.

I’m not saying the Bishop is wrong, I will say, there seems to be conflicting information out there.

There could be demonstrations or worse, say, at the Canadian embassy in Pakistan if Canada gives her asylum. Her status may be ambiguous for some time.

I hope this is right. It is disappointing the United States ( and of course the Vatican !!!) have not stepped up to the plate in any significant way on this issue

I don’t know about that. It’s such a
Sensitive natter, if the Vatican spoke, might it inflame anti-Christian sentiments? Of course, that is not then to cower from responsibility, but to be somewhat prudent. I haven’t heard of Christians being attacked in Pakistan in quite a while. Perhaps, let’s keep it that way. Churches in the past have been bombed just like in Egypt.

Similar could be said for the USA’s role.

When that extreme preacher was burning Korans in the USA, that had nothing to do with the US government, but people died over in Afghanistan over it, maybe even Americans, in attacks and demonstrations.

There’s a time to play the hero and a time not to.

The Vatican surely has some understandings of how to act.

Woman acquitted of blasphemy still can’t leave Pakistan

February 9, 2019
ISLAMABAD (AP) — A Christian woman acquitted of blasphemy after spending eight years on death row in Pakistan has been transferred from a secret location near the capital to another in Karachi, but is still unable to leave the country to join her daughters in Canada, a friend said Saturday.

Aman Ullah, who spoke to Aasia Bibi by telephone Friday, said the 54-year-old Bibi is being held in a room in the southern port city. He said Bibi, who faces death threats by radical Islamists, is frustrated and frightened, uncertain of when she will be able to leave Pakistan.

“She has no indication of when she will leave … they are not telling her why she cannot leave,” said Ullah, who fled the country Friday after receiving threats from extremists angered by his assistance to Bibi, which began while she was on death row.

See, she might still be there. My guess, is that this is the truth or they will simply not tell us where she is. Maybe never.

Does one remember the “Satanic Verses” and that author, Rushdie? He had to go into exile, maybe he had to go into hiding. He was in Iran. I read that it was 25 years ago that the big furor over that happened.

I don’t think they are going to announce when she left/will leave, or where she went/is. These Islamic extremists are lunatics and I would just about guarantee you that if Asia Bibi was reported and confirmed to be somewhere, one of these lunatics would attempt to murder her and her family. It happened to every paper that printed cartoons, cartoons, of Muhammed in Europe. They have gone after public converts from Islam. They will absolutely try and kill her in Canada if they think she is there.

Long story short, it is my guess that she is already in Canada but this information will never be released to protect her and her family’s safety, hence the conflicting reports that she is still in Pakistan. She is essentially in witness protection and it is in her and her family’s best interest that they disappear out of the public limelight. I pray that she and her family can now have a long and happy life.
