Brother, the official teachings of the Quran are in the Quran. It is simple to understand and doesnt speak in codes or anything like that. Some verses require interpretation and these verses are mainly laws and they have been interpreted by either Mohammed himself peace be upon him and we have his interpretation written down also or by Mohammeds companions who were scholars to the highest degrees also. So you dont have to worry about this. Read the Quran yourself and see I think you have a wrong idea of what it is. I think what you meant by one Muslim saying something and another saying another wasnt differing on the Quran. It was on the hadith. Muslims have two sources of legislature The Quran which they consider the literall word of God verbally revealed to Mohammed and the hadith which were sayings of Mohammed written down.
So we have the interpretation and everything and it was written by scholars to highest degree.
Did I answer your question clearly or…?
What you say is hard for Catholics to accept considering comments you have made earlier in this thread concerning executing those who convert to Christianity:
First of all even though I believe he is to killed for treason not all scholars agree on this for ur information.
There can be no higher need for AGREEMENT than on a person’s life! Who determines whether a person like Abdul Rahman lives you or another scholar?

Also I have been told the Quaran teaches that Christians believe Mary is part of the Trinity, is this true?

I’d like to ask a question about Mary; Do you believe she appeared to three children in Fatima, 1917?
No I dont.
Also I have been told the Quaran teaches that Christians believe Mary is part of the Trinity, is this true?

This is a lie spread against Islam as to prove that the Quran doesnt know what its talking about. The Quran never says that Marry peace be upon her is part of the trinity. The Quran says stop worshiping her. It doesnt say she is part of the trinity. This is reffering to Catholics (with all due respect of course) when they pray to her. This is rejected in Islam.Praying to anyone other than God be it Marry or Mohammed.

You said that Christian are free to practice their religion but not spread it. However, in some Islamic countries, a christian cannot bring in a bible [or other religious christian book] even for personal use. There are no churches nor are there allowed to be any christian services, period. How is that respecting a Christians rights?

While this occurs in Islamic countries, some muslims expect equal rights to worship in predominantly ‘Christian’ countries. In some places they have attempted to require or requested that schools to provide excused absences from classes in public schools and prayer rooms so muslim students can pray during the school day? Would muslims support special prayer rooms for the christian or students of other faiths?

Notice how he answers your second question there, but leaves the first untouched… I hope enough people read this thread just so they can see what I’ve been trying to get across on these forums for a long time. Muslims by and large cannot be reasoned with or want to hold a “dialogue”. The only thing they understand is “Mohammed said so” and blindly accept that all other people should follow Mohammed as well.

You are right. The biblical Jesus is different than the Quranic Jesus. The Quran Jesus was good to his mother, the virgin Mary peace be upon her as he said:

He said (Jesus) : "I am indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;
"And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;
"(He) hath made me kind to my mother
, and not overbearing or miserable" (019.030)

Whereas the biblical Jesus says to his mother:

Woman, **WHAT HAVE I TO DO WITH THEE **? mine hour is not yet come.

Who is my mother” (Matthew 12:47-49)

(can you imagine if a son tells his mother that what her reaction would be? A heart attack would be the least)
I beg to differ. You are using an English translation but the original greek does not have this meaning.

LEGEI AUTHi hO IHSOUS,
TI EMOI KAI SOI, GUNAI; OUPW hKEI hH hORA MOU

The word Gunai here is translated by some English versions to ‘woman’ and thus may give the wrong impression. The word is a respectful one which some people translate as ‘my lady’.

Its appearance in the various verses namely (Matt 15:28, Luke 13:12; John 4:21; 8:10; 19:26; 20:15) are all respectful. You are reading too much into translations without understanding the original intent of the word.

"And behold! Allah will say: “O Jesus the son of Marry! Did you say to men, 'worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah?..” Surah 5:116

This obviously implies that the Trinity consists of God, Jesus, and Marry.

Not necessarily (although I agree, that verse probably implies Mary as being part of the Trinity). Muslims denounce all intercession as blasphemy, so any saints we have are considered “partners” to God according to the way they see it.

You dont have to spread it to Muslims because Muslims already believe in the Gospel. So instead go preach to someone who doesnt believe in Jesus Christ in the first place.
If you believed in the Gospel you would be Christian. Muslims may “believe” in Jesus Christ, but they are incorrect about who He is.

I see how Christians are treated in muslim countries, and it is deplorable.

How can you say that Muslims believe in the gospel, when they deny that Jesus is the Messiah?

Speak in a respectfull way please.
The problem with this idea of respect is that any criticism of Islam is seen as an insult.

Muhammed himself showed that he could not take criticism and had his critics murdered.

Hey… im new hear so i figured id make this topic where u guys can ask me about Islam and clear up your misconceptions which are plenty as Ive glaced around this site I saw some very wrong facts about Islam.
What’s a wrong fact?

If Jesus is just another prophet (lesser important than Mohammed), why Jesus has the power to judge the living and the dead when he returns? Why not Mohammed if he’s so great?

This is only in Saudia Arabia, in the rest of the Muslim countries they can.
What are you talking about??
Jesus told his disciples to go get a sword and was panicking before his arrest.
Notice how he answers your second question there, but leaves the first untouched… I
Because I already answered it. Scholars have differed.
"And behold! Allah will say: “O Jesus the son of Marry! Did you say to men, 'worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah?..” Surah 5:116

As I said, no it doesnt. It reffers to catholics praying to Marry. Dont put words which arent there no where does it say shes part of the trinity.

Which Gospel? You had hundreds of Gospels and chose these why do you blaim us when we dont believe in them? The Gospels themselves contradict each other in several places. Fix that, we’ll be glad to believe in them. We believe in the Gospel that Jesus preached, not this.
I see how Christians are treated in muslim countries, and it is deplorable.
No u dont. Have u been to a Muslim country? Come and see for youself.
How can you say that Muslims believe in the gospel, when they deny that Jesus is the Messiah?
Why dont u actually read what Im saying for a change? MUSLIMS BELIEVE THAT JESUS WAS THE MESSIAH, THE CHRIST!
The problem with this idea of respect is that any criticism of Islam is seen as an insult.
Muhammed himself showed that he could not take criticism and had his critics murdered.
This is not true so stop lying. They had done many horrible things.

Jesus isnt lesser important then Mohammed peace be upon them. Says who we believe he’ll judge the living and the dead when he returns? We believe Jesus CHrist will come back since he never died, we believe God saved him from the crusifiction so its only natiral for him to return since he never died. We believe he’ll return defeat the anti christ and rule the worlf for a couple of years then die.

The persecution of cchristians if such a thing exists is against islam. maybe some persecute them out of culture not out of Islam.
arab… I have asked this question many times on other threads… and have yet to receive a direct answer… usually nothing, or a statement like “…,you don’t understand…”

so:

I am a Catholic.
I believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ, and that it alone has the fullness of the faith.
I believe that Jesus Christ is God
I believe that there is only One God and He is present in our lives as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
I believe that Jesus is a prophet and superior to all others because He is God.

I believe that Muhammed is a false prophet.
I believe that Allah is your God and is looked at as a master, a “slave owner” if you will, and not a Father or a God of Mercy.
I believe the Koran is man made, and full of errors, and leads many to eternal damnation,

so…

Q #1 Am I considered a non-believer by Islam??

Q #2 If you follow your Koran in all it tells you, then what must a true Muslim do about me, the unbeliever??

.

Q #1 Am I considered a non-believer by Islam??
Isnt a non believer a non believer
ur considered a believer in God. Not in Islam of course. But not a monotheistic.
Q #2 If you follow your Koran in all it tells you, then what must a true Muslim do about me, the unbeliever??
he must invite you to Islam, period. To you is your religion and to me is mine.

Have you ever read the Quran?

I see constant refrences to the Non believer. I also saw a verse that said something to the affect persecute them until all religions follow allow. Do you know what verse i am talking about? If so what does it mean? Ill look up the specific verse next time.

Islam has always had a preference for “People of the Book”, (Christians and Jews). Their primary focus for conversion has been on people of pagan, or polytheistic religions-- true nonbelievers.
