Try this one:Society’s Ills
Once there were two students walking along a river. …
The second student replied, “I’m going upstream to find out who’s throwing all of these babies in the river.”
Luke 17:11-19
Ten Healed of Leprosy
11Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a]met him. They stood at a distance 13and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
14When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
The source of our redemtion is God. The student in your story who jumped in to save the babies was the one who did right. When the other student got to the source of the problem and finds he is not strong enough to stop the evil one throwing babies in the water he has gained nothing. The point of this short story is to demonstrate the importance of going to the source of the problem to have a greater impact.
Yes, the solution is one. By what example do you think has done this best; Jesus or Mohammed? Many people address each of society’s social ailments as separate entities. Thus we find numerous organizations that target a specific poison; The solution to racism, spouse abuse, child abuse, crime, pollution, alcohol abuse, drug addiction, and other social ills is one.
Mohammed is walking up the river to find the problem, Jesus is in the river saving the children. Who we follow says a lot. Each problem does not require its own organizations and groups to eliminate it. The solutions for all of these is one. That one, is Islam.
You say God is all powerful, except Islam limits Him by saying God cannot be human in Jesus.**To be Muslim is to be in submission and obedience to God. He is the one God who has no partner. Nothing is like Him. He is the Creator, not the created, nor a part of His creation. He is All-Powerful, absolutely Just, All-Knowing, All-Merciful, the Supreme, the Sovereign. There is no entity worthy of worship besides Him.
