Ask forgiveness for communion

Somebody gave me the impression that in order to recieve communion, one must ask forgiveness for all the people he has wronged. Is this right?

For example, if I got angry at somebody unjustly then in order to recieve communion we have to ask the person for forgiveness…

In order to receive Communion you must be in a state of grace. If the wrongs you may have committed against someone constitute a mortal sin, you would go to confession before receiving Communion. If the priest tells you to make restitution to the person you wronged, do that.

I think there are too many variables to give you a flat yes or no answer though.

Our Orthodox brothers have such a custom I think. But the idea should be there anyway in my opinion.

Respectfully, I do not think that is not the correct conclusion to draw. A person cannot receive Holy Communion with grave sins on his/her conscience. Depending on the wrong you have done to a neighbor, a person may need to receive the sacrament of Confesson before receiving.
