I aksed several questions. None of them are anti-Islamic or “negative”, yet you haven’t answered one of them.

I don’t expect a long, detailed response to any of them. So what gives? You asked us for questions so you could answer them, but you won’t answer them?

Were there specific questions that you were hoping we would ask?

Joan
I also asked some non-negative questions, but I have not seen an answer to them.

It looks as if Tom is answering his own questions that he puts in the subject line. He wants no debate and will only answer “positive” questions about islam that someone else asks. This is not discussion, this is proselytizing. Tom is not looking for open, honest discussion about islam. I suggest non-muslims steer clear of this thread.

** The question is vague. It should be made clear keeping in view the tight (strict regimental) dresses of the nuns and sisters in the churches and church associations. Keep that in view how they dress and also keep in view the absolute sex, dance and drink life of the western world and then try to protect the non muslim (christian) population from the great corruption in which they are now sunk deep.

There is no concept of marriage amongst the christains and they do not marry unless they produce a child first.

Please let us look at those things and then we may have some good answer to the segregation rules in Islam. Thanks.**
That’s pretty exteme. We certainly do have a concept of marriage. I was married long before I had a child and so were my parents and my sisters. I do know people who had children first, or who have married many times, but those are individuals.

You don’t all Muslims to be painted with the same brush, so please do us the same favore. None of this is meant disrespectfully, but you can’t insult us and expect us to remain silent. This isn’t what “turning the other cheek” is about.

This is nothing else but a deliberate lie. The person who wrote this knew that it was false when they wrote it. It is intentional bait in an attempt to make people angry.

As-Salaam-O-Alikum Brother and Sister,

I have request for you both if you could answer Kalt and MHalsey question please. Because i have good purpose to open this thread to convey Good things about ISLAM rather than pin point and discuss against my own religion. So once again i request Planten to answer Kalt questions and Sister Amy to answer MHalsey question. If you both could because i donot wanna make the environment of this thread argueable. And answer once no need to argue with them. They will asked other question if they have it. May Allah Bless you both for this. Thank You Very Much.

Hello,
Hello. Muslims do not believe that God is their “Father.” The Qur’an says: (Both) the Jews and the Christians say: “We are sons of Allah, and his beloved.” Say: "Why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, ye are but men,- of the men he hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)" (5:18)
Since the Quran is asking this question to the Christians, I guess I can answer it.

If God is our Father, why does he punish us for our sins? The answer is because every loving father chastises the children he loves.

Hello,

Some questions on Islam:

Islam today is said to be a religion of peace - if this is so, why is Islam spread by the sword? Why is their the requirement to partake in Jihad? Why are Muslims so willing to kill anyone for the slightest little perceived insult?

Why does Islam have such a poor view towards women?

Why can the Quran only be in Arabic?

How does Isalm know that the Quran has not been corrupted - as they claim has happened to the Bible?

What would happen to Islam if the Quran disappeared? Is the Quran absolutely necessary to Islam?

Are Muslims required to read the Quran?

How many sects of Islam are there? Why?

What do Muslims believe about the afterlife?

Does Allah have emotions that run away with him at times?

Can Allah sin?

Why is Friday your weekly holy day?

What is a Friday gathering at a mosque like? What happens?

I guess that is enough for now.

Hello

No.1) Does Allah have emotions that run away with him at times?

No.2) Can Allah sin?

Hello,

From your two questions which are as above:

I am unable to answer your all questions. I will advise you to research and find out first who Allah/God is really. Than you will be able to find out your own questions. Thanks

Muslim’s way of fasting is not really fasting at all. When I was in Saudi Arabia, what I saw was not fasting. What you see or hear on TV from Islam apologist sounds like fasting is good and helps being closer to Allah or whatever. In reality, they simply revise to eating at night. They fast (stop eating) during the day, but at night, it’s like the freaks come at night. Fact of matter, most Arabs or Muslims actually gain weigh instead of losing it during the month of ramadan. You heard it right. It’s because of binge eating.

Ain’t that some crazy way of fasting?

Like everything else, our friends from the religion of peace simply get it all wrong i.e. Jesus, the Bible, etc.

Allah is only for Islam. Malaysia has ban everyone from using that term except Muslim. Allah is copyright protected.
The word “Allah” is the perfect description of the “One God” of monotheism for Jews, Christians and Muslims!

Is “Allah” only for Islam and Muslims?
[No! It is for All Three Abrahamic Faiths.]

“Allah” is the same word used by Christian Arabs and Jewish Arabs in their Bible, centuries before Islam came.

On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word “Allah” seventeen [17] times.

Every hotel and motel has a Bible. Next time you see one look in the introduction, you will find samples of the different languages they have translated. For Arabic they have translated the verse in the New Testament in Arabic from the famous verse in the Gospel John 3:16 -

"For God so loved the world . . . "
  • and the word the translators used in Arabic for “God” is the very same word used by Muslims around the planet, “Allah.”
Where Does the word “Allah” Come From?
“Allah” comes from the Arabic word "elah"a god’ or something worshiped. - (Arabic) means ’

This word (elah) can be made plural (gods), as in “aleha” and it can be male or female just as the word in English can be “goddess.”

“Allah” comes from “elaha” but it brings more clarification and understanding.

Allah= Has no gender (not male and not female)
“He” is used only out of respect and dignity - not for gender
Allah = Always singular - Never plural
“We” is used only as the “Royal WE” just as in English for royalty
Allah =Means “The Only One to be Worshipped”

No More About God(Allah) visits this site: www.shareislam.com

Please Note: Do not reply to this thread i do not want to argue. Thats all i have for you or any other muslim wanna answer rpp questions. Thank you very much.

Answer is Prophet Muhammad PBUH always eat less. Never eat full stomach and leave space for water to drink.(Mentions in Hadith i guess) I donot wanna say exact like 2 glass of water. Who knows the quantity. But he leave space for water to drink. Allah give all muslims to follow Sunnah.(Practices Of Prophet Of Islam) Amin

Answer

The Quran is a record of the exact words revealed by God through the Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was memorized by Muhammad (peace be upon him) and then dictated to his companions, and written down by scribes, who crosschecked it during his lifetime. Not one word of its 114 Surahs, has been changed over the centuries, so that the Quran is in every detail the unique and miraculous text which was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him) fourteen centuries ago and Allah promise Quran protection till the day of judgement.

I’m sorry for the delay… I haven’t been able to post much the last day or so.
How many different branches of Islam are there?
I am not sure exactly what you mean by “branch.” There are sects in Islam, slightly different organizational structure, in some cases some doctrinal differences. The vast majority of Muslims are “Sunni”, 85%, the second largest group is “Shi’a” which is a branch dating back to a dispute over succession. There have been other smaller sectarian splits, among the Shi’a for example but also other groups, but I have no idea how many. Compared to the rest of the Muslims, Shi’a and Sunni make up probably 98% of all the Muslims in the world.
Is there one leader for all branches of Islam? Or does each branch have its own leader?
There is no leader for all “branches” or sects or all Muslims. Some movements have their own leader–often sects creep up as a following to a certain charismatic personality. Shi’a Islam I think does have a hierarchy while Sunni Islam does not–there is no centralized leader of the religion, although it’s possible for the people to be united politically under a single leader, although he would still not have religious authority (i.e., ability to change anything in the religion.)
Is there an official Muslim statement on terrorism that is perpetrated in the name of Islam?
Official? Without an official leader how can there be an official statement? That being said, you will find that Muslims around the world unanimously condemn terrorism perpetrated in the name of Islam. Here is a great site with tons and tons and tons of articles written by Islamic scholars (in the Usa, Canada, Britain, the Middle East, etc!!) and leaders in the Muslim world absolutely condemning terrorist attacks. muhajabah.com/otherscondemn.php In fact, you can just skim through the titles of the articles to see. You might not be familiar with the names of the scholars, but I assure you that these are prominent and well-respected figures among Muslims.
Do you interpret the Koran literally?
There is a tradition that every verse has an inward and outward meaning at least. The Qur’an itself says that some verses are literal and others are allegorical. The Qur’an is interpreted literally and metaphorically–most often, both. One interpretation alone is deficient–including literal.
What is the official Muslim stance on Judaism and Christianity? (If there is one.)
Muslims believe, based on the Qur’an, that God sent prophets to mankind–and many prophet specifically to the Jews, and even Jesus. So Muslims believe that Islam is the logical conslusion of the Judeo-Christian tradition.
Encouraging Muslims to become terrorists or suicide bombers… Is this expressly condemned by Islamic leaders? If it is, are the leaders sanctioning Muslims who choose to continue to encourage others to kill?
Terrorism and suicide bombing are both forbidden in Islam. It is condemned by Muslim leaders as you will see on the site I linked above: muhajabah.com/otherscondemn.php
10 Commandments. Do Muslims follow the 10 commandments. If not, do they have a similar code?
They do follow most of the 10 commandments (not the one about the Sabbath) althought not in that form. Most of them appear throughout the Qur’an and in the teachings of Muhammad. Here is an article which answers the question: Do Muslims follow the 10 commandments?
What would a non-Muslim have to do to convert to Islam?
Declare the testimony of faith in Islam, that there is no god except the One God worthy of worship, and that Muhammad is his messenger. To say this, with understanding and sincerity, makes a person a Muslim.

I hope this post was able to answer your questions. Because there were so many I tried to be brief, forgive me if I have caused any confusion.

Thank-you for the ansers. Nope, you didn’ t cause confusion. I think the links your provided will be especially helpful. I’ve read a few condemnations by Muslims of Muslim-led terrorism, but most people unfortunately think that Muslims have been silent on the topic. The links you provided will show proof that they haven’t been. It’s the popular Western media that have chosen not to mention these statements. I guess they’re not “hot” enpugh. Let a lunatic Muslim who is promoting terrorism sneeze, and our media is all over it. Western media is better than the rest of the world’s, but you have to remember that they love controversy and sensationalism more than facts and balanced reports. These statements don’t make the nightly news, the newspapers, or the news magazines. That’s no proof that they haven’t been made.

Thank-you! I appreciate your effort. I had no idea where to find these reports, and a Net search brings up all kinds of sites that aren’t what I was looking for. 🙂

BTW, by “official” statement, I meant a statement made by a leader of a branch (sect) of Islam that expresses an opinion that is binding for all members of that sect. Something on the idea of “We reject…” A statement that all Muslims are required to agree with. They might not agree, of course. Everyone has free will and will think as they please, but you know what I mean. A statement by a leader that stands for the thinking of all Muslims of the sect.

Why should I care what socrates said?
after all, “what does athens have to do with it?”
-tertullian

lol, you should care what socrates says since most early Christian fathers used him, aristotle, and plato (mostly plato) in defense of Christianity.

so do i get my question answered? mine was like the 6th or 7th one.

what is the difference between sunni and shia? not just that they are different sects or split because of succession, but what are the different practices and why are there different mosques for each? why do they persecute each other?

That sentence about marrying after producing a child may not be the general practice. But it was noticeable in paris and london. I met people (couples) who were having sex for sometime (without marriage) and when sure that there is no output, they changed partners.

But if there was an issue, they got married. This all understandable because of hte religious beliefs against divorce. I was not trying to abuse the christians. I had observed some of the very good honest pious christians too (whom I will not describe), they were really very good persons.

But the majority or quite a big percentage of the christians were involved in the bad affairs because of the fear of a divorce.

Otherwise, I noticed that in France, any lady could have a child from any one with or without marriage. Nobody will ask her whose child was that. If she is working in an office, she would get one year paid leave. That is all very good indeed.

I do not mean to blame the christians. But the amount of drinking and gambling and illiit sex that is going on in the predominantly christian countries is alarming.

The lack of segregation and loose dresses are involved in these things. I am sure that it was not teachings of the church, i.e. early church at all. What is being practiced is not the church policy at all. But it is there. I apologise for any discomfort caused to any one on that account and in future I will be more careful.

Today is 15 March. Please wait until some one talks to you. If you are a christian then please reflect on the two big portions of christianity, the catholics and the protestants. That may help you.

That is because the Sunnis seem to be the catholics and the Shias are the protestants. That is what it is like approximately.
But this is not the real answer to your question and I do not know if your question has to be answered.

What use will it be to any christian to know about the Sunnis and the Shias. Still I hope some one will take the lead and describe the matter. It is rather difficult subject. The Sunnis will support their belief and the Shias will support their own belief.

In the end, it will be like the catholics and the protestants, poles apart.

it doesn’t exactly answer the question. i am wondering what the divisive issues are? are the practices different and in what way? what was the cause of the original split and when did it happen?

what do you mean “what use will it be”? it helps me understand the religion as a whole better. aside from me being a Christian, i am a student of religion and history, so there is use in knowing these things and i thought i would ask a muslim the questions.

catholics and protestants though, are not “poles” apart. we differ on some theological things but agree on the basics (i.e. the historical creeds). we disagree more on process than doctrine.

I knew you were writing some thesis on this subject. Please wait until some friends contact you by suitable replies. It is not always possible to answer all the questions.

Like I told you about the catholics and the Protestants. You know the reality about them So it is with the Sunnis and Shias. I hope you have read well about the Protestants and the Catholics. Initally it was all political issue which developed into Protestants and Catholics, i.e. Protestants separating from the Rome.

comment I guess with a question ladened in…

I read somewhere that Islam simply means a devout following of God (paraphrase)…
I think you mean the word “Muslim.” Literall the word Islam comes from a 3-letter root word (sorry to be too technical) “S” “L” “M.” The word “salaam” means peace, and the word “islaam” literally means submission to God. (That is submission, surrender, and obedience to God.) The word “Muslim” means someone who does Islam, so someone who submits to God, surrenders and obeys the commands of God.
so, when I hear “calls to becoming Islam” is a faithful and devout Christian not already “Islamic” based on the definition of the word?
The Qur’an describes Jewish prophet and Jesus, even Jesus’s disciples as “Muslim.” Literally, they submit to God and obey. The essential point though is that Muslims submit only to God, and anyone who includes a partner in worship with God (like worshiping Jesus also) or who rejects any of the prophets hwo have come (like Muhammad) would not be included as a Muslim.
(As a note… i am truly doing a play on words here… I understand that what the definition really means is a faithful follower of God as taught by Mohamed, and I mean no disrespect to our Islamic Friends on this board…
It’s not really a play on words at all, in fact it’s a very good insight into the religion of Islam. Because today Muhammad has come as a prophet, it is necessary for Muslims to believe in him and not reject him, just like it is necessary to believe in all th emesesngers before him.
This is more a tongue in cheek statement NOT meant to be insulting)
It’s not insulting at all. 🙂
