Wow!

I just got back from Low Mass and Holy Hour. After the Holy Hour, the altar server, a middle aged gentleman, asked me if I wanted to serve the TLM. I was silent for a few seconds…not knowing how to respond. “Yeah, I’d love to,” I stammered. “But I don’t know if I’m capable of it.” Not that it matters, but I don’t even belong to this parish.

What an honor! Need all the prayers I can get. Thanks.

Now you do! 😃

Wonderful news. There are particular graces of altar serving; may you receive them all. 😃

Equally, I used to think I was pretty reverent at Mass – and I mean this only speaking about myself, and not anyone else – but anyway this has increased now I serve. I’m not saying it’ll be that way for everyone, but you may find a “deepening” of it.

Congratulations! Here are two of the things I learned from serving mass at the TLM over many years:
  1. You are there primarily to serve God, so just try your best and rest assurred that God will overlook your unintentional mistakes.
  2. For the sake of the congregation, if you do make a mistake, don’t let it disturb you, just act like you know what you’re doing and continue on.

I know that one all too well. I AM MARRIED!
