Thank you so much for your advice. I do believe that God has inspired some of these replies. I hope that I can be as helpful to others on the board as you have been to me. I am pondering and praying.

Always remember that if your heart is in the right place with the Lord, the Holy Spirit will be obligated(and happy) to assist you. God bless you both.

You are very welcome. I’ll be praying for you. That reminds me of something that happened to me in 1990. Sit down, it may take a moment or two. In Sept. of that year I had some people (well intentioned but misinformed) try to tell me that because I was catholic I was going to hell. At that time I didn’t know the scriptures very well and so I couldn’t defend myself or the church. I asked my aunt for some advice. She recommended that I begin to pray the rosary daily and let Our Lady look after my spiritual life. I did as she said. Shortly after, I was praying the rosary and had only gotten a short ways into it when I became very frustrated with the fact that I couldn’t meditate on the mystery, so I stopped praying. Instantly I received what some would call a vision. I saw an old time steam engine. I asked the Lord what it meant. He said"You are the steam engine". I didn’t understand but immediately I began to pray again(the rosary). He then said “My Holy Spirit drives the steam engine”. I could understand that because I could see the fire under the boiler of the engine where they used to shovel in the coal. He then showed me passenger cars behind the engine.(full of people). He said “You tell Me that when you pray, you pray for the intentions of My Most Sacred Heart”. I responded “yes”. He then told that the people that I saw in these cars were the people that I was praying for. He then asked me what happened when a train stops. I replied that people get on and off the train. He said “The point I’m trying to impress on you is that these people will get off the train if it stops. If you don’t want these people to get off the train, you don’t stop praying whether or not you can meditate” Chances are that I have been praying for you and never knew it. Irregardless I will be from now on because I have asked the Lord to allow you and your friend to be on my prayer train. God bless you both.

Dear Michael,

How does someone even begin to express gratitute for your charity in sharing this experience and including me in your future prayers? I pray the rosary every day, and sometimes it is vey difficult to keep focused. I believe the reason it is often so difficult to get through a fifteen-minute rosary is that the devil tries to discourage us from using this powerful prayeer and weapon. I deceided a long time ago to continue to pray the rosary even if very imperfectly at times. I also believe that the prayers of strangers are particularly powerful with God since they are so selfless. I’ll also pray for you.

Your title is catholic for sure. I just found this site a couple of days ago and I’m barely capable of negotiating my way around a computer, but I prayed before I got on line for it to be used for His purposes. Obviously (to me) this is serving His purposes in a small way. I want to be catholic for sure. Often we find the answers for our own problems by helping others with theirs. In some ways I know what you are searching for. You are looking to be one. I’ve had it revealed to me many times to seek first the kingdom of God and all these other things will be given to us. I can see from experience that this is true. You don’t need to thank me (although I’m grateful) but it does bring joy and peace to my heart that in some small way this is helping you and serving the Lord. Search for Him with all your heart and you will find that the desires of your heart will be the same as His. Prayer doesn’t always have to be the rosary. I think that sometimes the most pleasing prayer to God is a prayer from our heart that is full of thanksgiving. That’s why I became involved in the charismatic renewal. Actually it was Our Lady who led me into it. There is always praise of God,but I wouldn’t be involved in a group that didn’t in some way invite Our Lady to participate.(to easy to get led astray). So you see it’s not a struggle to pray for you but a joy and a pleasure. God bless you both.

Would you put me on your prayer train. I know that this is off topic but I could use some prayers. Or maybe it’s not off topic at all…teachccd

Absolutely.Right away .I’m justin the process of praying the rosary right now .Ask Our Lady to put you on the train.By the way the train will always bring you to the Cross.

We’re happy to have you!

Peace!

Catholic4sure. Just to let you know that I have been praying for you (quite intently actually), and to tell you the truth I have a tremendous amount of peace when I do. I believe that is a good sign. I forgot to say thank you for your praying for me. Actually right now as I’m writing this to you the Lord has given me a scripture for you. It’s Isaiah 49:15. I’ll let you read it rather than type it out. Stay focused. God bless you both.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your inspiring message. I see you have a special devotion to Our Lady, and she will always lead you closer to Her Divine Son. I believe that if the devil is unsuccessful in tempting us to sin, he will trouble us in other creative ways, scrupulosity being one of them. You have good insights and I thank God that he has made you an instrument of prayerful support over the Internet. You have been very kind and helpful, and may God and His Holy Mother continue to bless and reward you.

May He continue to bless you as well. About the prayer train, I think I neglected to tell you about where it goes. Sometime after the Lord showed me the train, I asked him where it went. I said “Does it go to God the Father?” I didn’t see anything but the sense I had was that Calvary was like a huge train station with hundreds(probably thousands)of trains coming to the Cross. Of course as you say that is where Our Lady brings us. Don’t worry, I will NEVER stop praying and you are definitely on my train. Remember this if I don’t get to talk to you again. Don’t be hard on yourself. Jesus always wants to build us up. We are made in His image and likeness and that is why satan hates us so much. Where-ever your heart is, that’s where your treasure will be. I can tell that the Lord has put you in my heart and I won’t forget to pray. I’ve been praying for some other people for along time and I haven’t met or forgotten them either. I think that’s because when He puts someone in our heart, He gives us His heart to pray with and He never forgets us. Isaiah49:15. I’ll see you in heaven.----Michael.

I want to thank you for your thoughtful comments and responses to my question. I would hate to ask him to get tested. What do you think?
I would hate for you to get a disease. I would get tested and present it to him and then ask him for his results. God bless

If you marry, you each have a right to know each other’s medical condition, but not particulary the other’s sexual history. Does a husband ask a wife about the contents of her confession? Does a wife ask a husband? No.

The thing I would be worried about the most is that you mentioned he asked you to ‘set the limits’. As the guy, he should primarily be setting the limits and leading and defining the relationship according to Christian principles.

God bless.

This topic is the thing I most remember from my Engagement Encounter weekend nearly 17 years ago. The priest told us that aside from matters of public records (ie, bankruptcy, criminal past, etc.), and health, you have no right to know anything beyond which your bf voluntarily tells you. If the OP is concerned with expsoure to HIV/AIDS, then I suppose it is fair to ask that he be tested or provide evidence of a negative test, but I don’t think that was her primary concern. I think she needs to let it go–assuming her bf confessed his sin, God already has.
