Asking for book recommendations on vocations, dating, love, marriage, and martial relations

I recently in the last several months have become involved with someone seriously for the first time. Things often leave me wondering what to do, because I’ve never been through this before. So, I’d ask if you could recommend some good books on vocations, dating, love, marriage, and martial relations (we both are practicing Catholics, and waiting for marriage, but I need to know more).

as for marital relations, that’s something you should talk with your priest about, although i can recommend one good books -

and i’m sure others know of more, but since i’m not married, and don’t plan on getting married any time soon, i haven’t been interested to much in reading those things…not that i shouldn’t, i believe it would be good if i did, but i’ve just been reading other things more.

I got married a few months ago so this sort of book is still fresh in my mind - first thoughts are:

Marriage: A Daring Promise by Richard Gaillardetz

This was recommended to us by our priest when we got engaged and we read it together, discussing what it said. However, I think that even if you’re not yet at a point where you can discuss it with your boyfriend, it’s still very useful to read on your own.

Marital sexuality: A Celebration of Sex for Newlyweds by Douglas E. Rosenau

We have found this very helpful - it’s a Christian book but not Catholic, so there are a few things that don’t match up with Catholic teaching, but the vast majority is very helpful indeed.

Both, I think!: Good News about Sex and Marriage by Christopher West

I’ve not actually read this myself (it’s on my wishlist!) but I’ve only heard excellent reviews - that he presents the teachings of John Paul II on Theology of the Body in a clear and mature way.

I really liked CW’s Theology of the Body books. I enjoyed this one, too.
