I’m writing in need of prayers for our family suffering from a sexual abuse incident and currently has my husband and I in a spiral of distress. 3 weeks ago 14 y.o stepson confessed to innapropriately touching 3 y.o daughter. My husband did what we think was best and contacted the authorites immediately. Stepson is currently in Juvenile detention and awaiting another hearing. My husband is upset because no family members (mom, dad) are willing to get him out of jail now or even prevent foster care to someone else (if necessary) in the future. He is suffering from guilt of turning his son over to the law and now him being jailed for who knows how long. He wishes it were different and old times where we could handle it in the family, perhaps if we were not a blended family. We are not sure what is going to happen, whether or not the 14 y.o will be allowed to reunite back in the house with other children. To add to the stress, 3 yr olds Dad, whom I was never married to, is trying to get custody of her now. (We told him what happened right away too). This whole situation is tearing us up with grief and stress. My daughter is seemingly as well as she can be. She has talked about it a few times and is going to play therapy for a short treatment. She had a medical exam and all is well. This is just a huge shock to us and we are sick about it. We are trying to remain faithful. We are brokenhearted. And not only that, but this has been a very lonely time. We feel deceived and betrayed by 14 year old and abandoned by family. This just is not a good time… It is hard to get up in the morning and hard to fall asleep at night. It is consuming . Please pray for us.

Oh, my … words fail me.

I’m truly sorry, as empty as those words must sound to you.

I will offer my Divine Mercy Chaplet for you and all family members. May God comfort, strengthen, uplift, heal and guide you all.

Sending you a virtual hug :hugs:

Thank you. It’s nice to know a person is praying for us. We know God will get us through. Yes please remember us for your chaplet.

Whilst you chose the right category - Family Life - I believe you’ll get more people praying for you if it is in the Prayer Intentions subforum , so I took the liberty of moving it there.

It’s awful when the rug has been pulled out from beneath your feet and your world is consumed by what happened.

Truly. We think we understand God’s permissive will, and then this happens…
We see the evil all around us and hunker down in the family; then it happens in the family. I wonder what the Lord will bring of this.

Out of evil He can bring great good. We may not know or understand this in this life, but I believe we’ll know and understand in the next.

The greatest evil was the suffering of our Perfect, Holy and Good God in Jesus Christ who knew no sin, but became sin for us. (paraphrasing here , Corinthians 5:21) - and we know the great good that God wrought from that.

Hang in there Swiftdove, whilst everywhere there is darkness and hurt, and incomprehension, God does love you all and is there with you.

Will absolutely add your family to my prayer intentions. Words cannot express how much empathy I have for you and your family. Know that your husband did the right thing even though the consequences of that decision are gut wrenching. He did the right thing. Give it to God. He will sort it out.

For @Swiftdove

“Dear Lord, during this trial,
I offer up to you my confusion
Give me clarity
I offer up to you my despair
Give me hope
I offer up to you my weakness
Give me strength
I offer up to you my pettiness
Give me generosity of spirit.
I offer up to you all my
Negative thoughts from Satan
So that when he asks ‘Where is Your God now?”
I may respond “Right here with me, giving me His grace
As a Heavenly beam of light penetrating your darkness!”"

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments, we might not despair nor become despondent,
but with great confidence, submit ourselves to your holy will,
which is love and Mercy itself.
Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal ( Swiftdove’s family). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Swiftdove’s family’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Dear Jesus,

I humbly implore you to grant your special graces to our family. May our home be the shrine of peace, purity, love, labor and faith. I beg you, dear Jesus, to protect and bless all of us, absent and present, living and dead.

O Mary,

Loving Mother of Jesus, and our Mother, pray to Jesus for our family, for all the families of the world, to guard the cradle of the newborn, the schools of the young and their vocations.

Blessed Saint Joseph,

holy guardian of Jesus and Mary, assist us by your prayers in all necessities of life. Ask of Jesus that special grace which he granted to you, to watch over our home at the pillow of the sick and the dying, so that with Mary and with you, Heaven may find our family unbroken in the sacred Heart of Jesus.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I don’t even know what to say except that you are in my prayers.

I would see the fact that your stepson told you rather than you catching him, as a good thing.
