How can one ask forgiveness from my Eastern Brothers for fermenting hate?
How much I understand that I have greatly offended God when after permitting temptation to lead me to speak out against our Muslim neighbors the world news immediately condemns my disobedience in following the Way. To love my neighbor as myself, Christ spoke.
A brief chastisement vented not in love and then as I next turn to hear the world news it is announced that the greatest number of executions ever ordered in Egypt is declared. Who am I not to forgive? Who am I not to love my distant neighbor and yours nearby? What penance may I make for such offense? In what way may I lead those who face captial punishment to know Our Lord, Jesus Christ?
Hatred is from the enemy and Satan is well organized. Keep your sight upon the Cross and Ressurection. Help me to pray for those who persecute us.
