So, I came across a video on youtube last night about Mary’s appearance to St. Catherine Labouré and how Catherine described Mary as being decked out with rings/jewels on her fingers. Some were bright and others were dim because people didn’t ask for these abundant graces. My questions:

-How do you ask Mary for graces? Is there a specific prayer?

-What graces does Mary have to offer? Are there specific ones you should ask for or just ask for generic “grace?”

-Is asking Mary for grace different than the promises that come from saying the rosary?

Funny you posted this as I have taken up Marys offer and have been thinking about the vision a fair bit lately. My interpretation is if you have something you need or want , in accordance with Gods will… Don’t hold back asking Mary to help. The message means that she has so much to give but people don’t bother asking possibly out of lack of faith. This means be bold in your prayer intentions even if what you ask seems impossible … Think of what Mary said and ask her. There is no certain prayer . I personally remembered her promise and made a point of telling her I’m asking for those graces people don’t ask for. I want to be bold and take a leap of faith. Graces can be things like more love of and trust in God, more courage, strength , gifts of the Holy Spirit, help to do Gods will, that kind of thing.
Perhaps even a great dream you would like to see come true but lacked faith in.

God bless you always+++

Thanks for your reply. I am a new Catholic so devotion to Mary isn’t something I was born with but I keep feeling more and more drawn to her. I’m just going to go with it, be bold and ask! I’m going to church later to pray anyway and I will just talk to her. Pax!

Get a copy of the CCC as there is quite a lot of information on “Grace” therein. For example in paragraph 1996 it reads “. . . Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that GOD gives us to respond to HIS call to become children of GOD…”

And in the Hail Mary, where it says, “…full of Grace…” it is taught that Mary, as the Mother of GOD has been blessed with the special gift of dispensing all of GOD’s graces upon mankind. So, by all means embrace the Rosary and learn to say it passionately and with meditation and love - versus the verbal foot race from which you might hear it from a few individuals.

And one of the most important requests / prayers is to ask GOD to grant you the “Grace” you need, but do not have, and that you do not know is missing. Mary’s rings did not glow as many of us do not know that we are missing Graces we need. Ask Her to dispense the Graces GOD wants us to have, but we are unawares to ask.

Excellent advice, thanks. 🙂

A short a beautiful prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary is as follows:

O most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this, my necessity. There are none who can withstand your power.

O star of the sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother ( make your request ).

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee ( Say three times ).
Holy Mary, I place this cause in your hands ( Say three times ). Thank you for your mercy towards me and mine.

You must say this prayer for three days and after that the request will be granted unto thee. ( Your prayer to our Blessed Mother will never fail ).

( This prayer must be published immediately )

Mary our holy Mother can obtain favors from God through her intercession, just as she interceded for others asking a favor of Jesus for them at the wedding feast of Cana.
Grace comes from God
:blessyou:

Will the request be granted after 3 days of praying this prayer if the request is not within God’s will?

St Faustina was told she could dispense Grace as she willed.

How does Mary’s role as mediator of all Grace fit into this?

Whether you’re praying to God or chatting with a saint, you’re not going to get any request granted if it goes against God’s will, or if God has a better idea of something to grant you instead.

I find it interesting that, if a writer includes all these technicalities, people call him legalistic in his view of prayer… but if a writer doesn’t include them, he gets criticized for promising too much.

I think this topic is way Off.

Mary does NOT grant grace: that is a task reservered to Her Son:)

That said: That ought not stop one from praying for this or that THROUGH MARY. That is Her Role. She has been granted the privledge to dispense all-grace APPROVED by Christ.

God Bless,

Pat

Good question. The answer is found in 1 Timothy 2:5:
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,”

I find a prayer like this quite bothersome. To say that a request will be granted after three days, makes it a superstition.
