Each day, when I experience a moment of weakness or stress, I say four “Hail Mary’s”, asking Mary to pray that I have a pureness of mind, body, and soul, and then asking her to ask God to forgive my sins. Recently, it just seemed right to ask Mary to then join me in saying an “Our Father”. After that I say a few more Our Fathers on my own repeating the earlier requests and offering up thanks for all His Graces.

My question is, does anyone else do this - asking Mary to join you in prayer? I’ve never heard of it, and for all I know, everyone else has been doing in for centuries except for little ole me.

Does anyone else have any unique prayers that they do?

Thanks,

I ask Mary to pray for the intention I pray for, so I suppose in a sense we are praying together.
Now I got an idea for a great picture… I’m imaging an older woman at a pew holding a rosary with a faint Mary next to her praying towards the tabernacle…

When we pray the Rosary, our Lady does pray with us (except for the Ave’s, obviously) as she did with St. Bernadette. I don’t tend to ask her to join in prayer with me otherwise though.

I have asked Mary to pray for me often through out the rosary. It is how I offer the rosray, asking at each our father, that Mary please fpray for me for certain issues. But I have never asked that she particularly say an Our Father on my behalf.

I have often asked that certain saints join me in praying the rosary, or sometimes a decade of the rosary. Those I appeal to depend on the cause. Maximilian Kolbe, Therese of Lisieux, Jude, Padre Pio, Catherine of Siena, Mary Magdalene, and the late Pope are people who I usually ask to join me.

For me, it just felt “right” to ask Mary to pray with me as well as for me. It brought me to a more personal level with her. I never thought of asking any (or all) of the saints to join me in a prayer. Wow, if I can get them to say the Lord’s prayer in unison with me, I guess that mountain outside my back yard has no chance but to move!!!

I have never thought about asking Mary to pray with me, but sounds like a good ideal to me. I have however, just recently started asking Jesus to pray with me when I say my Rosary…It works! I was so tried one night, and wanted to go to bed, but I hadn’t said my daily Rosary yet…so I remember something I had read about a Saint(forget which one), asking Jesus to pray with her; anyway it was a wonderful experince. The time just flew by, it seemed to over almost as soon as I started. I was also filled with such joy, that I regretted it went by so fast…I thought about saying another one, but instead just entered into a dialouge with Jesus; until I fell asleep.

I’ll try it with Mary, and report back…bye and Peace be with ya’ll

Well, I think it’s a great idea. I have what I call my Holy Possy, Jesus, The Lady of The Rosary, St Jude, Sister Lucia, Blessed Jacinta, and Blessed Francisco. This Evening I’m going to ask them to pray the rosary with me.:blessyou: :amen: What a great idea!!
