Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (marymmma’s Mother). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into marymmma’s Mother’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (marymmma and her Mother), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Thank you for your continued prayers. I haven’t answered back before now because I’ve been waiting to have something to report about her passing but she is still with us. This coming Wednesday it will be two weeks since I wrote asking for prayers for my dying mother. Hospice had said it would be 24-48 hours. My youngest sister threw a fit, though, saying she didn’t want her mother suffering from thirst and having no antibiotics for the pneumonia, etc. She wanted her moved to the hospital immediately and hooked up to IV fluids, antibiotics, liquids, breathing treatments and be given morphine. We all went ahead and agreed with her because we didn’t want to see her suffering either. Now, almost two weeks later, she is suffering like I’ve never seen anyone else suffer. Beyond suffering. Since this past Monday she’s been hooked up to a continuous morphine pump and taken off all other forms of support for life. She is literally bones. I’m not kidding. She no longer communicates with us. You can’t touch her without her crying out in pain. The morphine pump is set for 2.5 mg. per hour with additional morphine given when needed at 3 mg. per request. And that’s usually another couple or so times an hour. I could go on with more examples of her suffering but I just wanted to give you an idea of what’s been happening. I ask you for your continued prayers please. I honestly don’t know how she is still breathing…still alive. Thank you.
