Also, you stated that Damascus said he had been a teacher for 10 years. Damascus simply asked in which post he said that. You cannot seem to provide this post.

Please explain why you said that about Damascus.

And please stop being so aggressive.

Lets play within the rules, and not hijack others threads.

You stated earlier that Muslims dont try hard enough to get whatever the issue was into the media.

Jews don’t eat pork because a pig does not chew its cud. An animal must have a cloven hoof and chew its cud to be considered kosher. Muslim dietary laws are different. I understand that they can eat camel (or camel milk?), even though the camel does not have a cloven hoof.

In fact, why do Moslem countries discourage the open practice and discussion of any non-Islamic religion, including not allowing the building of churches (in my particular experience) outside of “western” compounds?

It probably has to do with their interpretation of Islam. Some Islamic governments have taken a very puritanical view of the Quran and Islam. If I remember correctly, there is supposed to be a special tax, jizya, for non – Muslim adult males who are neither sick nor monks. It is supposed to entitle them to practice their faith fairly freely and it provides them with the protection of the military without any obligation to serve in the military. There can be no compulsion in religion, we are told in the Quran, so any government that is trying to restrict or destroy the freedom of religion of the people of the book is in violation of Islamic law. As my wife often says, it can be difficult to find a genuine Islamic government these days.

On this I am no expert so please do not take my word as the official view of Islam. I am no expert and have not studied the issue. I can’t provide you much beyond that, I am sorry.

Insha Allah, I will stay for as long as I can. We are prohibited to eat pork because this is what Allah has told us in the Quran. Pork is viewed as an unclean meat. There are several Quranic verses that tell us not to eat it. See 2:173, 5:3, 6:145, and 16:115.
