Are there any members of the Assemblies of God Church that can tell me honestly what your church thinks/believes about Catholicism?
When I was in an AOG church Catholics were said to be in great “darkness.”

I was raised a Protestant, and my family went to an Assembly of God church for a short time, and my aunt still goes. My family doesn’t like me being Catholic, which I have no clue why because I’m still a Christian and I still believe, but they don’t seem to have any problem with other Catholics their opinion is “Well…at least they believe”

I became a Christian at an A/G church. There was never anything said point blank, but a lot couched in “traditions of men”.

The last sunday I went there, which happened to be a communion service, the Pastor held up the “elements” and said, “We could be doing this with a snickers bar and a can of coke and it would be the same thing.” That’s when I knew I had to listen to the Holy Spirit and quit attending both.

Happy to be Catholic!

Are you for real! What a most asinine thing to say.

If one want to know what Assemblies of God think about the Catholic church, you can look
at Jimmy Swaggert who is very anti-Catholic. I am not sure if he is still with AOG but he is very out spoken and against the Catholic Church. There are many different branches and feeling among Penticostal/Charismatic churches but my experience in them is that many are not very pro-Catholic and consider Catholics as needing to be saved and consider the Catholic church teachings as full of errors. I think after Jimmy Swaggert’s own sex scandal that he might have broken with AOG and is now out there doing his own thing. (which is nothing new for him).
