Dear Jotobo,
With a little searching, you may find a OF parish in your area that shows great reverence for the Eucharist. IMHO, parishes with perpetual adoration are good places to begin your search.
Our parish is large, and there’s no way to avoid the long shuffling Communion lines, but our pastor and Adoration have made all the difference. We bow to reverence the Host and the Chalice. Many receive on the tongue. Our acolytes hold patens under our hands or chins and will NOT let us walk away before consuming the Host, at our pastor’s direction. We check our hands for particles.
re: receiving the Precious Blood…this is not required and, frankly, I do not because of germs. Whether or not the Chalice can pass along germs is a topic for another day, but God has given me an understanding of biology and a weak immune system, so I abstain. Even at our very reverent parish, maybe 50% receive from the Chalice. I have never considered it a sign of orthodoxy. The Church did not offer the laity Communion under both species for many hundreds of years.
Many prayers for your journey!
