Faith, as we know is a gift from God. Lacking Faith may or may not be culpable. Therefore to deny the existence of the Holy Spirit, would be un-Christian, surely, but not necessarily culpable. Do we hold the Jews today guilty of sin for not believing in the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity? No. At least the Catholic Church does not.

I hope I understood your question correctly. :o
Hi!

Thank you for your response!

May the Holy Spirit Guide and Enlighten us all!

Hi, J!

…so in spite of the fact that Jesus states that blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is a sin that is not forgiven man on this life nor on the next, you believe that those who reject the Holy Spirit will still end up in Heaven?: Maran atha! Angel
I think you are reading into my post something not there or intended. Of course blaspheming against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven.

Hi, J!

…my understanding is that the Holy Spirit Calls man (humanity) to God and that man answers or rejects God’s Call through exercise of free will.

In your statement you indicated that those who chose to reject/not believe in the Divinity of the Holy Spirit will still end up in Heaven…

It seems to me that if we reject God’s means of Communication with us or if we relegated it to our own understanding… well, we have missed the boat!

…yet, in God’s Reality I go by touch not judging anyone “saved” or “damned” but rather relying on what has been Revealed… a general acclamation to “remain as you please” seems to hit against my understanding of what God has Revealed.

This is no judgment upon you… but I needed to raise the question.

Hi, Della!

…that’s what happens when one sticks his/her nose in the Scriptures… a mess of thoughts come into view… :flowers::flowers::flowers:

…consider the fact that Scriptures are being studied… and while we may not get full satisfaction either way… the Word of God is getting exposed to the mind of man!

Consider too that the Holy Spirit can work in us so that the Full Revelation of the Truth is not only Revealed but also Lived!

While I fully agree that it can be advantageous for us to “stick [our] nose in the Scripture,” etc., that’s not the point. The thread’s topic isn’t about John deserting Jesus, it’s about the Assumption of Mary. If people want to discuss John deserting Jesus they should start a new thread instead of hijacking this one, per forum rules. 🙂

Hi, Della!

…I understand your concerns… but circles do have tangents… and oh boy so does the human mind/though!:whistle::whistle:

Hopefully, it will return to the topic, promptly! 😉

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. - 1 Peter 5, 5

Good advice, if one is the younger. I happen to be 68, and fully aware of what is appropriate and what is not, but thank you all the same. 😉
