Is the Assyrian Church Catholic? If not, what are the differences? I know that someone baptized in an Assyrian Church can receive communion without issue in a Roman Catholic church, but am a bit confused about the differences…

Also, if baptized in ACotE does someone need to go thru RCIA, etc to become Catholic?

No, they are not Catholic under the Pope.

They might not be required to attend an RCIA program, but they probably should, if they are interested in converting. There is no point in taking someone in without clarifying what the church actually teaches. BTW, the Orthodox and the Polish National Catholics are also allowed to commune in your church … by your church, despite the fact that they do not believe in Papal universal jurisdiction or Papal infallibility (and in the case of Orthodox, they do not believe in purgatory either).

Ordinary Catholics are excommunicated for not believing these things, but Orthodox can come in and partake.
