The fact that you experienced this when you went off your anti-psychotic medication should probably tell you that these “insights” weren’t real, right?

It is a myth. You can’t prove a negative. You claim its true then offer your proof.
Anyone who simply claims to have had such an experience is just talking hot air and no substance.

By the way this is the Church’s position:

CCC 2115 God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.

CCC 2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

CCC 2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.

Then, I’d say avoid these things. Otherwise, you might find yourself standing tall before the man.
 
If it doesn’t exist, then it doesn’t fall under anything. So, the CCC, for some odd reason, is referring to nothing.

The CCC covers attempts, even though they are fruitless (because astral projection does not exist). Its the intent that matters. The intent to achieve astral projection is a sin.
 
What if it happens without intent? Does the CCC consider that a sin?
 
You have grown too confident in your remarks,
@TheOldColonel the CCC is merely trying to
address the false teachings on astral projection.
You should not be criticizing what SOME think
is a very real thing!!
 
I don’t think the Church teaches that is not real just that it may come from the devil. In the life of saints it is recorded he presented himself even as coming from God. Willfully seeking this kind of reverie is not encouraged by the Church. The New Age followers claim however that it is natural and not dangerous at all. Just because it helps it may not come from God. Padre Pio saw the devil presenting himself as Jesus and also many other hermits. I haven’t read anything regarding doubting its existence though. From a Christian perspective. They are called delusions from the devil because even if they are spiritual many of them aren’t from God.

Yes, that is true, even tho there is a lot of material
comforts and gains to be had from the world, the
flesh and the devil, they are merely “shifting shadows”
in comparison to God’s consolations and promises!!

Do you need any sort of special licensing to “astral project” like pilots have to get? I would like to go to visit Rome. How can I do this?? It seem s like a cost effective and timely way to go. I never ready anything in the Catechism on it, though.

I think its impossible because how a soul can get out of living body? Then your body would be a zombie?
 
Well, I can assure you, it will be over my dead body that I ever become a zombie! I can promise you that.
 
There ARE cases of the Saints having the “gift”
of Bi-location(St. Padre Pio, for one) St. Paul, in
his letter to the Corinthians talks about being w/
them in the Spirit even tho he was in Prison in
Ephesus.1 Cor. 5:3-4
