So I found a website that generates the night sky and the constalations of any day and place of your choosing. I plugged in the date and place my husband and I met and was surprised that one of the constalations looked like two people holding hands. Now, I dont believe in zodiac signs or any of that garbage, but did wonder what that constilation was. Upon researching it, I found out that it is Gemini and the tarot card for it is represented by lovers. I’m a little freaked out by it.
Since astrology is bad does that mean constalations are too? Or are constalations just part of astronomy? I dont want to read into this too much, but does God use the night sky to send us messages in any way like the star of Bethlehem? Is there a supernatural reason the Gemini constilation was out when I met my husband? Or is all of this evil and even reading about it will send one to hell? Im totally willing to write this off as a coincidence but am just curious about what the church says.

Constellations aren’t bad if you’re just using them for fun and not to tell the future.
The Zodiac is painted inside some Catholic churches, including the Vatican and an ornate old church back in my hometown that is modeled after a church in Rome.
Gemini is not “lovers”, it’s “twins”.
FWIW, astrology also isn’t related to tarot, except in the sense both can be used for harmful divination.

Astronomy is a science. Constellations are groupings of stars. Astrology tries to predict personalities and the future based on the stars. That is occult.

Thanks for your reply. I understand that the tarot is a different thing, but I did read that in tarot cards Gemini is represented on the card as lovers. Thats what I was referring to.

There was an interesting thing I ran across about the Guadalupe tilma, about how the constellations on the robe are the same as the night sky at that particular day’s dawn, as viewed from Mexico. Or something.

But if you also look at the actual constellations and what they represent, there’s further symbolism. So, for example, Corona Borealis isn’t visible, but it would have been placed across the forehead-- appropriate for a crown. Leo, the Lion, is usually associated with kingliness, and would have been positioned over her womb, where the Christ Child would have been. Virgo, the Virgin, is a third constellation that’s not visible, but would be over her heart. Gemini, the twins, would be near her legs, and represent the birth of Christ-- all God and all Man. She’s surrounded by Draco, Scorpio, and Hydra-- which all have negative connotations-- on all sides, except heavenward.

Anyhow, there’s been plenty of ink that’s been spilled on the symbolism of all the constellations’ arrangements. It’s not hard to find.

So, the point is-- you can sometimes use astronomy and constellations as an extra layer of symbolism, to give you an extra level of meditation for a certain line of thought. But once you start getting into giving those constellations an intrinsic power-- like, say, in a horoscope-- then you start straying away from God.

As far as Gemini = Lovers rather than Gemini = Twins, you might think of the bit from Plato’s Symposium, where people were trying to define love. One of the definitions that came up was that love was when you found that which was missing, and thus completed you, sort of like two halves to a whole. But you can think along those lines without getting into tarot. 🙂

Real astrology is very elaborate. It involves the stars and planets. There may be some coincidences but it is a form of divination which Catholics should avoid.

ok but this is what YOU saw. I am sure another person would see something else, like a chain or an animal. We are basically taking about dots that can be connected in many different ways in a person’s mind.

Tarot cards are something to stay away from.
Astrology is just as bad IMHO.
