How true. How true. And we sure do have our work cut out for us, don’t we…
Hi boys! Not much action on this thread, eh? Let’s step it up a bit then…they’re just in denial.

Hi Jr., So why lump all these groups together?they’re just in denial.
or maybe just searching for the truth
You know, I think I’ll make a blanket statement about theists.they’re just in denial.

They have found the truth! Other people’s truth. I guess that works for them. You know, I think I’ll make a blanket statement about theists.
They’re stuck in a pipe dream with no grip on the reality in front of them.
Or, maybe they found the truth.
I’m wondering how the truth changes? The people who actually knew whether or not Jesus rose from the dead he did were willing to be persecuted by the Romans for their belief. If it’s true, it’s not just true for them, it’s true for me too. It’s like all history. Abraham Lincoln didn’t exist for some people and not exist for others. They have found the truth! Other people’s truth. I guess that works for them.
Ahhh, what is Truth?I’m wondering how the truth changes? The people who actually knew whether or not Jesus rose from the dead he did were willing to be persecuted by the Romans for their belief. I see it differently. I look at the definition of “agnostic”. It means “someone who believes that the question of whether or not there is a God is unknowable.” That includes every man, woman, and child on Earth.they’re just in denial.

I know for sure there is a God. He has revealed Himself to me many times, and continues to do so. Why, breathing in and out is proof of His existence! I absolutely, positively know there is a God, not just a higher power, but a true Creator and Love itself. There is not one single person who absolutely, positively KNOWS that there is a God. Of course, there’s evidence that there’s a higher power at work, but there has never been proof.
Don’t count me as one of them! Therefore, every person on Earth is an agnostic; the vast majority just don’t know it.
My strong belief in determinism is an integral part of my faith. It takes a lot of thought and courage (unless your completely content with your life) to become comfortable with this. Nothing flies in the face of most theologies more than the fact that no matter whats going on at the quantum level, a gagillion levels up, its almost certain that there is no free-will.The atheist temperamant is frequently hubristic, deterministic and depressive all characteristics which make hearing the voice of God difficult. The Christian response is not to argue ( none of us know anything) but rather to pray.
Look at your post. “Fact” “almost certain”. In neither case can you be remotely sure you are correct but you assume or think you are. This is what I mean by hubris. I don’t know your faith or position Hosh but you are not in possession of the knowledge to state “facts” about what is or isn’t happening levels up from quantum ( I too am in that boat). My strong belief in determinism is an integral part of my faith. If you don’t argue you’ll get stupid. That’s why I’ve started to post on Internet forums, so I don’t do it to the ones around me. At least try arguing with God.
Humanistic determinism is not metaphysics. With future technology this can be proven to be right, unlike the existence of God. If Its proven to be wrong then God exists.Look at your post. “Fact” “almost certain”. In neither case can you be remotely sure you are correct but you assume or think you are. Atheist commentaries are acts of faith as much as anything else a faith which as I say appeals to determinists and depressives who want to believe in the mere materiality of things . Your comment is an act of faith given that you don’t know whether you are right or wrong.
We are using the verb argue is different ways and yours is more accurate than mine. I mean by argue a kind of aggressive fight. You mean discussion about different views. You are right to say it is necessary to argue atthat level but it is not possible to posit “facts” about metaphysics.
