Atheist James Randi slams people who claim their was a miracle on the hudson

I knew this was coming. Every time somebody suggested that devine invervention may have helped out the people on the plane, I got the feeling that some militant atheist would come out and slam religious people. Well here we have one. Randi even showed victims of the holocaust and asked if the people on the planes prayers were more important than theirs. I found this to be pathetic and appalling.

I do think Randi has done good things in the past. The work he does on homeopathy and Silvia Browne is excellent, but this went overboard.

James Randi is a frustrated entertainer who needs to understand that (not all X are Y) does not equal (no X are Y). I would be surprised if he’s taken seriously. Most atheists I know (and i know a lot) are embarrassed by those professional debunkers of everything, actually.

I don’t have a problem with debunking frauds. I think it is an admirable thing to do. Why should anybody take homeopathy, silvia brown or remote viewing seriously? But to invoke the holocaust in order to make the point that god doesn’t answer prayers is in poor taste.

I didn’t know atheists were embarrassed by him. That’s an intresting point.
 
There are atheists who hold certain ideas about a god and speak out against this god. Randi’s definition seems to include something about holding all humans on puppet strings.
