please pray for my wife jan. she was an agnostic when we married 30 years ago. converted to being a catholic and all our children went to catholic grade school. was involved in the church etc.
about 4 years ago she decided she was an atheist, due to 9/11 and a show she watched on PBS showing a gay man who’s partner died in the attack. she stated that you could feel the love and she could no longer understand how any God or religion could say being gay is wrong…

thank you.

Jim I am praying for your wife Jan. And also for you that you can stay strong for her and your family may the peace of our Lord be with your family. God Bless:signofcross:

:gopray: Father God, thank You for the strength that You have given Jim to hold fast to You. We lift Jan to You. Soften her heart and call her home to the church. Answer the questions that she has and has struggled with or let her heart be content with not knowing all the answers. Somethings like 9/11 is beyond explanation and You do love the sinner but not the sin covering those who are traped in a gay lifstyle. I lift this couple to You, call them to each other and call them to You. Please bring back unity to their home.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Jim, I will keep your wife Jan in prayers and Masses. God bless you, Trishie

Hey Jim,
I will be praying for her and for you. Many lives changed that day.
Unfortunately some people need big events to change them back. God hears your prayers, and he will provide… Stay strong.

I want to thank you all!!! I bring up this thread once and a while and reread your responses and prayers. it provides me with extra strength.

on Sunday, July 27 Jan has said she will come to church with me. all our children are in town for our oldest sons wedding. i made the plea for all of them to join me at mass that sunday morning. our small church is being merged with a larger one and my family knows how much our church and the spirit it has means to me. they all agreed to attend with me, including jan…the prayers are working.
THANK YOU ALL.

Praise God.
Thank you for your updated Jim. Praying for your family

thank you all for your continued prayers. a little update; the july 27th church date did not happen. though, as the day wore on i knew it wouldn’t. my son was married on that day, it was a long day and we had both his sons staying at our house…
this weekend however is try #2. all the kids are home as it’s our youngest 21st birthday. one of my daughters, the youngest, who knows what what this means to me and it rallying the troops to all come to mass. in fact, our youth folk group is playing. i play guitar for them, and this week i’m playing my mandolin as well .
so, try #2 will be this sunday.

thank you all!
jim

Your family is in my prayers. I will add your wife to the list on the St Monica novena prayer thread.

Your intentions will be in my prayers.***

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen
