Atheists/Agnostics: What do YOU GUYS think of Martin Luther???

Yeah I know…

Asking non-theists which religion has the best dang theology is like asking a red-green-color-blind-man their opinions on autumn and summer foliage…The attitude is “whatever”.

But…, if there’s one thing that I’m sure makes *every *atheist/agnostic (like myself) shake in his pants, it’s how much these (metaphorical) trees are going to contribute to the (metaphorical) ecosystem of society…

Now, I know that if *Dawkins *had his way he’d grind every last tree to a flaming pulp and then print “God Delusion: Special Edition” on them, but let’s be reasonable here: the trees of Christianity are here to stay, for better or for worse.

So, assuming that Christianity will forever be here as a potent societal influence – good or bad – and assuming that differences matter:

Was Martin Luther and his division of Christianity a positive thing for society (i.e. like the encouragement of skepticism 👍) or a negative thing (like perhaps the resulting disunity and animosities :()** :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:

**FOR ONCE, I WANT TO SEE THE *NONBELIEVERS ***ARGUE ABOUT THESE THINGS!!! (and not just for my own amusement :D)

Gee, this is an awefully important question for you to pose. It would be mighty terrible if all 'em atheists were simply apathetic about Luther’s legacy. :rolleyes:

Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! One of em’ dollars with legs is after me right this seconds!!! What should I do, now? I’m real scared. I’ze be tryin’ to git away from it, but my boat’s leakin’ mighty fast! :eek:

I don’ knows yet…but gator here is lovin’ the taste of my shot gun…wait…maybe nots…he jest spat out the trigger.

Well anyway…I got bigga things to worries about now than Crocodilian dietary tendencies…like my rights hand he jest bit off. I thoughts we had understandin’ but now bleedins all over…wait is it my blood or his blood? Lemme taste…Yep, it’s mine! 😉

I wouldn’t be so sho’. Them gators cans be pretty tricky about that kinda stuff.

If you sends its to my shack I could tests its DNA for ya! I mean, I’d be pretty afraid if I was you there usin’ the old lick test, what with all 'em AID’s and blood-born pathogens and stuffs.

Jest sends it to me, I won’ even charge!

Mighty thanks for yours offer, but I can’t really hand it over to the game warden guy…I mean I’d pass it to him and all, but I’m down to my last limb and I need this foot fo’ typin’.

What should I do? This aleegator’s jest ‘bout finished me and game warden Gilbert won’t reach over jest a little bit more fo’ my blood sample!
