I’ve come to grips with reality, you continue in a realm of intellectual dishonesty, relying on literature written thousands of years ago by people who had not even a tenth of the knowledge that average person today has about medicine and science. I find it hard to trust the conclusions of the authors of the bible on such difficult questions as eternity, everlasting life, etc. when they got so many other things wrong.

You’re err is in this, friend: You pressume the Scriptures are the words of humans! Were that so, why on earth (or in Heaven) would we call them infallible, inerrant? Nay, they are God’s words, not ours. God is never in err … And were I merely in a state of “intellectual dishonesty,” then why has this three millenia+ work, which has suffered the intensest of testing, survived for so long? No discovery–be it archeological, geographical, cosmological, or otherwise–has served to discredit the Bible. Granted, you have poor scientists (YECs, for instance) who will read it in light of tradition rather than in light of itself (which proclaims we are still in the Seventh “Day”), but to any believer (or even, Atheist) who is willing to search the confines of the book, with a prayful, sincere purpose, mind you, light will undoubtedly be given …

Accept nature.

How are we part of nature? The only instinct we have is that of falling.

We dont work within nature, we work over it, around it, use it, manage it. And if we dont respect nature, it kills us.

Thats why when we kill its wrong, we are above nature. Being human is something else, something more.

Humanity does possess supernatural qualities such as spirituality, but even I must disagree here. We are also natural in substance, in that part of our being. And God would not want us to overlook his craftsmanship by ignoring that part of us which is fleshy …

So you think “god” wrote the bible. Fair enough. His knowledge of science is primitive then. It seems he thinks the earth is 6000 years old. We may want to mention the vast amount of evidence to the contrary next time we’re at church.
