Your angelic friend and guardian is ever at your side, and if you need his special assistance, a simple “Pray for me” will suffice.

But an atheist doesn’t believe in guardian angels. You statement has a much meaning to an atheist (and it may be as offensive to an atheist) as a Wiccan telling you to pray to the Lady for wisdom and guidance.

Laudetur Iesus Christus.

This does not seem parallel. Wicca is factually, and self-admittedly, fabricated by men. The belief in guardian angels is Scriptural and Magisterial. Any offense taken by a Catholic would be based on an objective and historical body of knowledge. Any offense taken by an “atheist,” or, “wiccan,” would be based on that person’s unfounded taste or an asserted lack of knowledge (or asserted knowledge of the non-existence of an existent thing).

The difference is significant and extreme.

Ok, I’ll take the bait since this seems like an overly obvious attempt to start another heated debate.

No…no it won’t. Like cheese_sdc said this has absolutely no meaning for me or any other atheist whatsover. And yes I DO find it insulting.

Dear “jlakey:”

I beg to dispute your finding. Could you please layout the arguments in support of your finding that you have been insulted? What of your interests are implicated and how have they been infringed or violated?

You have not given us much to go on. Are you asserting that your claimed illiteracy, which disables you from discerning the meaning of the original poster’s advice, somehow, “trumps,” that poster’s freedom of speech? This does not seem like a sound or tenable argument, if it is what you intend.

I am interested to understand the logic behind your approach.

Pax Christi nobiscum.
