For the benefit of doubt, if a person that is homsexual is born or wired this way, then what? If this were true, then what would the churches position be? This is a possibility and one that people are praying that is not true.

They must abstain from sexual activity like any unmarried person. It wouldn’t change the Church’s position one bit.

Some people are really tempted to steal, some are really tempted to cheat on their wives. Could they be born that way? Maybe.

That doesn’t make giving in to the temptation less sinful.

Would you argue that if they found a “promiscuous gene”, the Church should change it’s teaching on adultery?

I am not saying hosexuality is good, I am just staing what I see.
From my own experience in life growing up from grade school to college, homosexuals that I encountered along the way do not appear to choose being this way. I don’t believe that they have a disorder or are mentally ill. They never tried to recruit me or touch me in any way. They were also some of the people that lived in my neighborhood, went to grade school, yes went to church, college and employment. I knew of male kids I grew up with that had a femine way about them from the time they were 9. If you closed your eyes, you would think that the boy was female. It went from funny and odd to strange at about 15 years old. I pray hard because I tortured these people when I was younger. I laughed at them and were afraid of them because that is what I was taught. If a person is homosexual it is not like hitting the lottery. Society is hard and sometimes life threatening to them.

so even sympathy for them seems to be construed as a sin.

Celibacy. Same goes for single people. Celibacy. Only married people can have sex - and only with each other. Only one man and one woman may be married. This is God’s design for this sacrament.

I personally feel that it’s all about a crisis of obedience and Satan’s view of " I will NOT serve".

Many, everywhere question authority. I realize that there is authority that is terrible and even lacks the ability to be obeyed but, this doesn’t negate lawful/true authority.

We are entering a time of great anarchy. The human condition has become very tragic and depraved. Abortion, homosexual activity, etc. are only symptoms of the heart’s cry to be free from any one telling it what to do!

I know that the following example may seem to be a different topic, but it’s not really.

Three of my children go to our Catholic school. Our priest allows them to go free! I could never afford to send them. I’m very, very grateful.

But, I see a lot of what is going on. I notice that everything, I mean everything is all about the students, fund raising, sports, academics, etc. Yes, education is very important but true education is to foster a spirit of sacrifice building character with many good lessons.

But, what I’m seeing, are the rich being catered too so that the money can be extracted from them. I see that even the poorer are expected to drop everything to cart the kids around for projects at their friends homes, etc. school dances, sports you name it, all in the name of sacrifice. So, the child doesn’t get their chores done, don’t contribute to the family in any meaningful way and everything is all about them! How sad!

NO! This is all wrong. No, they must contribute the family, help care for the younger ones, clean, cook, etc. They must not be out late, so they can get up and be productive. They must be allowed ot think of others while also meeting their responsibilites.

These students are coddled, praised in wrong ways, etc. All the kids know that the rich kids are the special ones. They are the ones you want to be friends with. Also, the very intelligent ones. The rest, well, they are left to feel " less than". The sad fact is that they are really the blessed ones. The sad fact is that the spoiled, coddled ones are being robbed of their dignity and future unless there is of course divine intervention.

So, why wouldn’t male children grow up effiminate? They are babied by mom, and distanced by the macho father. But, at school if the parents are rich they are made into some kind of goddess or god.

There are several boys in our school that are openly engaging in homosexual actitives and relationships! But, is anything said to them? Does anyone exercise care for their souls? NO! Their parents are very wealthy, doctors, etc.

Almost all the highschool kids are sexually active! Everyone knows it.

Not all is bad. Our Catholic school and parish at least doesn’t have clown masses or worship some goddess. But, the shepherd has not been guarding and protecting the sheep so more and more stuff is coming into taking the sheep one by one. Well, actually three by three now. It’s getting worse.

I’m sad to say that it’s going to take a great shaking. If God doesn’t intervene then mankind will annihilate itself.

I’m thankful and completely believe that the Catholic church is divine, will survive but we must enter the Passion of Lord in the last days.

The thing to do is to NOT attend the union ceremony and state in a letter or in person as charitably as possible why you can not attend. People will then understand why you can not attend. It is against the teachings of the Church plain and simple.

We can only be answerable for our own actions and conscience. IF the doctrines of the Church go contrary to society or to others then it is clear what our response HAS to be.

Being Catholic or Christian is not always popular or easy. We are not here to please others. Our main responsiblity is to God.
