"Attending Mass Regularly" requirement for Confirmation Sponsor Questions

Hi everyone,
I was recently asked by a relative to be his confirmation sponsor, and he gave me a form listing the requirements for me to affirm. One of them requires that I participate in Sunday Mass regularly. The issue here is that I had not attended Sunday Mass for a few months, though I fully intend to go to Confession then Mass from this weekend onward.
Am I unfit to be a sponsor? If I were to attend Mass for the first time in months, I figure that would not fulfill the “attending Mass regularly” requirement. I’m not sure when I need to turn in the form, though his Confirmation is early this May. Thanks!
 
You’re registered as a member of a parish, though?

Talk to your pastor. He’s the one who will have to sign a form or write a letter vouching that you meet the requirements.

Ask him how you might become eligible to be a sponsor, to his satisfaction. Together, you might be able to come up with a solution!
 
I’m a member of a different parish than him, but I think you’re right. I should speak to their pastor. Thanks!

No – speak to your pastor. He’s the one who will certify to your relative’s pastor that you’re eligible!
